Modern Day Heavy Metal/Hard Rock

^All those are awesome.

That song is awesome. Can't wait for the new album.

I think its going to be a lot more, for lack of better terms, raw, than some of their previous stuff. The Rev was so creative that they got away from a lot of their harder stuff, but I think they'll take a step back, so to speak, with this album. We're going to get more of that heavy stuff and less of that wild, out there stuff (like Little Piece of Heaven) which I'm really looking forward to.

I am a little worried on what they can come up without the Rev. The song Hail to the King has really grown on me though so I hope I enjoy the album as well.

It came out the 23rd, havnet had a chance to listen to the whole thing. Its a lot more metal, simplistic, kind of like what I expected. I liked it, but I dont think it stuck out all that much from what I heard, if that makes sense.

What makes you think the Rev was responsible for something like Little Piece of Heaven? I hate that song, and the music video creeps me out

Try to find the "making of" for that album...used to be on YouTube. And, Pinkly Smooth, which was the Rev and Syn's side project, did all kinds of crazy stuff like that. All of the stuff that a7x has done that is a little bit out there has Rev's finger prints all over it.

All of you need to check out Scar the Martyr. They are a fairly new band and are really good in my opinion.

OP, if you don't mind, can we get some groove/thrash metal suggestions in here? Anyone have any? I like Pantera, Lamb of God, Machine Head etc.

Check out Post #35. That's the type I like. Lamb of God has one song I like called "Redneck." Not sure how I found it though lol.

And as for my #1 workout song

Other great songs:
Lift Me Up
M.I.N.E. (End this Way)

@FiveRings basically my favorite playlist, but I left some others out

You listen to three of the best already. I cant really think of any bands right now that sound similar. Maybe Chimaira and Trivium.

Here's one of my current favorites. Their riffs are really heavy and remind of late 80's/ early 90's Metallica in the sense.

Great music, bad screaming.
