Monday came and went and Vandy was not released

If he comes on strong and starts hitting his kicks then we don't have a problem but he has not looked very good even hitting his extra points which he has been pushing to the right. We sacrifice yardage on kickoffs because he suppose to be this great accurate kicker and we are not getting the results. Add to this a poor additude and poor work ethic I don't see him around much longer unless a major change starts to take place.

I wont argue with this.

From 2001 through 2005, the various Dallas kickers were 97 for 135 on field goals, or 71.8%

This year Vandy is 13 for 19, or 68.4%. If you don't count the block against the Commanders, he is 72.2%

Correction:
Vandy is 12 for 17, or 70.5% Not counting the block, he is 75%.

The point is, a street FA kicker, (as defined by the Dallas 2001-2005 kickers) would not be a great improvement. Vandy has a good track record over his career and I say stick with him.

Let just say at this stage I don't think Vandy will be back next year and if the team is lacking confidence in him right now then I think his leash is getting much shorter to finish this year. I'm not saying guys like Cundiff are long term solution but if Dallas can find a player who can make his kicks then I don't really care if he is a house hold name or not.

Please Doomsday101...please! For the sake of my sanity, please, do NOT EVER MENTION Cundiff again! Please!!!

(freaking baby faced brat)!!!!!

He was paid a lot less yet kicked as good as we get for the 2 million dollar idiot. Cundiff is looking a lot more appealing and guess what he knows how to kickoff as well you get both for a lot less of a price tag. :lmao2: I'm not a big fan of Cundiff but right now I'm thrilled with the idiot we have.

I thought he was 12-17

I've seen some really good kickers in the Canadian leaugue and their seasons over.
Maybe we can pick up a disgruntled kicker from them????:D

This is a good post. It goes well with my point, which is that we can stick with our current 72% kicker who has a long history of success suggesting a very reasonable expectation of improving on that percentage, or we can go with a young, untested 72% kicker who is likely to never be anything more than a 72% kicker - or worse.

That picture always cracks me up. Jerry looks so unconfortable, and Crazy Cowboy looks just that, crazy.
