Monte Kiffin Interview

After watching this -- thank god he got Marinelli to come in. I'm afraid this guy might fall asleep during the game.

Kiffin looked fine to me, get over the age BS the man knows more about coaching defense than most would ever hope to know. He looks as if he still has a lot of passion for this game.

Reall, I think several of our coaches do. Funny thing is, I think Garrett does by far the worst interview of any of our coaches. I watched all of those coach interview vids from yesterday and they all were very impressive in their own way. Callahan is especially impressive IMO but I like all of the rest of them, too.

I think he carries himself like a crazy grandfather who you put in the garage when you have company over.

Anybody who comes in and says "Ware has a chance" is good in my book.:laugh2:
I love a old school coach.

WOW, .. after watching that interview, and his enthusiasm, .. what part made you fell like he might fall asleep during the game?

That sounds like a pre-conceived opinion, because nothing in that interview looked like anyone that we should be ashamed of.

You just must not like his age.

I think so, too. But in a good way. I felt like I was watching a rerun of Jerry Van Dyke in 'Coach.'

Basically every time he got excited he looked like he needed to lie down and take a nap to rest.

Yeah, I don't know if I'd say he lacked energy, but he definitely got distracted and ran off the road a few times before finally getting back on topic.

Hopefully Marinelli will be there in the passenger seat to grab the wheel and steer him back between the lines if that happens during games.

LOL, .. ok.

I think he'll be alright.

At least he seems to know he is in Dallas and working for the Cowboys.

Garrett sounds so rehearsed. He gives the most basic and generic answers. "It's a process", et cetera.

Yeah, I'm hoping he can focus a little better and get to the point with the players. We shall see. I think he'll do fine, but I was a Ryan fan. So it's going to take a bit more than an interview to win me over. I want results. Ryan seemed to get those no matter which cards he was dealt.

He smart because he does not hand ammo out to the media.

He's also dry and boring.
He wouldn't be if the mediots would ask intelligent questions instead of accusations masquerading as questions.

Coach K's comment about playing as a team was really a tell IMO. That being said, really do appreciate the speed in which his defenses play.

Excited to see what Marinelli can do with the DLine. My favorite Kiffin quote was "You show up here, you're gonna get coached."

on a sidenote: If they ever made a movie about the 2002 Bucs, Monte Kiffin would be played by....
GENE HACKMAN!!
