The Dallas Cowboys made some progress in their search for guard help Tuesday, agreeing to a one-year contract with former New York Jet Brandon Moore, a source told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Playing at close to a Pro Bowl level for the past half-decade, Moore was one of the few remaining free agents at any position capable of stepping in as an immediate upgrade.

On paper, this offensive line looks legit. Is this real life?

I think it's part of getting better everyday.

Stacking good days.

Right kind of guy.

Garrett seems to be making all the right moves so far.

Unless this is Jerry's doing.

Either way nice way to add depth.

And maybe Garrett was so animated in practice today because he knew this was going on behind the scenes.

It's been a long time coming. We draft a guard and/or tackle next year and we'll really move towards having a legit offensive line. This definitely buys us at least a year to address guard early in the draft.

The thought of Leary being legit and healthy plus signing Moore has me giddy.

For the first time in a while regarding this offensive line, I have fist pumped.

If Frederick and Leary weren't having such a promising camp, this move isn't made in my opinion.

^^This.^^

I was considering this exact point earlier tonight. They see how quickly Frederick has progressed at center and Leary at guard, and they don't want anything impeding it. Signing Moore suggests they have high hopes for the line this season.

I was feeling much better about our OL before this. Not only am I pleased with the current projected lineup, I'm confident in the backups in case something happens.

Is this signing actually confirmed and if so what are the terms of the deal?

I am excited about this. Now, I'm only concerned with OT depth. Center, guard all seem to have decent depth now.

Again, so far this looks like a very good offseason for our scouting dept and FO.

This move will help Doug Free immensely. Columbo spoke on Doug Free's play last season and commented that he didn't think free was a bad player, he just needed the right guy next to him. He then spoke about how Kosier's style of play uplifted his in the same way. Not to mention, best of all I think, this move means Fredrick is pretty much cemented at center..

Love it. Next move is Livings getting an injury settlement or going on IR.

Smith - Leary - Fred - Moore - Free

Backups - Parnell, Bern, Costa, Arkin, Kowalski.

Love it.

Yes! Thank goodness that Fred-at-guard talk can be put to rest for good.

yeah I think that's the 53 roster

Here's a good stat comparison between Moore and Bernadeu:

In 144 games with the Jets, Moore conceded 20½ sacks.

In his 36 game career, Bernadeu has conceded 36 sacks.
