More Beasley, Less Austin

That would be my preference. Beasley gets open, he catches the ball and Romo can find him in the clutch. But Austin is just about nowhere to be found these days. More Beez, please.

More Williams too, lets get him bumped back up to #2. He was alot more productive in that spot than Miles has been since his return.

I think we are already seeing this. Beasley has gotten many more looks than Austin these past few games. Deion Sanders called Beasley a poor man's Wes Welker last night. I have always thought Beasley had that kind of potential. I easily see him getting 70-80 catches next year.

Austin has to take a huge paycut or he's gone this offseason. Similar to what was offered Doug Free last year.

Austin either has lost the burst he used to have, after all the hamstring issues, or he has zero confidence in himself at this point because he's completely disappeared from the offense. I don't think he's caught 4 passes since he got back from injury this time.

Dez, Twill and Beasley are are the future. I don't think there's any denying it.

While I agree Miles is not the player he once was...his presence forces the oppostion to put a big physical CB on him...thus freeing up Beasley to run free in zones. Beasley would get tossed around like a rag doll on the outside....so I would continue to use Miles as a decoy.

I've been quietly rooting for Austin to return to some form of his old self because I saw him as a threat that had to be accounted for on the field: big, fast, best route runner, sure hands(at one point in time). But I haven't seen any of that this season and the writing's on the wall: pay cut or roster cut. I think all the #1, #2, #3 talk is moot. They want Miles in the slot where he started out. He should be a nightmare there: our best route runner against the #3 corner. Our best 3WR set should be Dez and TWill on the edges and Miles in the slot, Witt as an extra blocker or 4th option. But it wasn't in the cards for 2013. Beasley is best when the opposing D forgets he exists, then all of sudden there's this little stilletto slicing thru em. If he's the designated #3, I don't think he'll be as effective. As bbailey423 said, he'll get tossed around.

Was Austin even targeted once yesterday?

Yes, he did have a critical 1st down catch in the 4th quarter, I believe it help get the FG. The one where Romo came up limping I believe.
He was targeted a few other times, but don't believe he made the catch.

Beasley is a threat in our five WR set. Even TWill didn't get any looks until the end of the game, and one of them the DB fell down. I just think our passing routes are awful.

Agreed, and they will in the offseason.

However, he has two HUGE catches this year. The one yesterday and I think the other was against either Minny or Oak on scoring drives. He's a shell of what he used to be, but has made a couple of big plays.

If I'm so pretty, why am I available?

Anyone know what Beasley's contract situation is? At least we have an easy decision on keeping Austin. I also believe our offensive scheme isn't doing Austin any favors and he will probably be a good value in Free Agency.

They need to move on from Austin in the off-season due because he does not perform up to his salary and he can't stay healthy; however, he has been very good as a blocker in the running game recently. That is something that Beasley can't do.

Yeppers. That's a pretty darned good triple threat too when coupled with our improved offensive line and the running game.

I wouldn't give up on Harris

A smarter coach could get great things out of him!

I wholeheartedly agree. Harris, Bease, TWill, and Dez. Quite a formidable WR corps.

That guy #19? I have to look at the roster to see who he is. Some guy off the street...
