More Cringe worthy: Zeke's 'Feed Me' or Mo's incomplete?

I thought the feed me was cool against Washington..

This week it was a feed me with a over dramatic first down celebration after. Reminds me of Roy Williams and all of his stupid first down celebrations.. Go hit pay dirt and then celebrate.

Or Michael Irvin who did it all the time when he got a 1st down. Really this is an issue having a guy out there with some swagger and high expectations of himself? This site is really becoming a joke when people feel the need to complain about everything even a win that Dallas took care of pretty easily

So, are you saying he needs a stop-feeding-me sign? Maybe he can add a head motion while doing the feed-me sign, like a baby when you're bringing food to his mouth and he doesn't want to eat it.

Seems only fair, right? If you want a gesture for when you're doing your job, have one when you're begging out of the game too.

It's not a issue.. Just a personal preference and what I see as cringe worthy.

IMO, it just makes him look like a jackass and not a bad ***.

Seeing a rookie signal first down 100 times bothered me much more than Mo's incomplete signal did. Mo is a veteran and his confidence needs the boost. A rookie should be more humble in my opinion. Elliott still has plenty of growing up to do.
Yes he does.

Especially noticed it in the after game interview.

JMO, tho.

Feed me is to the coaches. Elliot has always felt like putting the team on his back is a recipe for success.

"Just letting Scott [Linehan] know that I'm feeling it," Elliott said. "I got a little bit of momentum, keep feeding me the rock."

"I wouldn't say I needed more," Elliott said. "I think Coach Linehan did a great job with his play-calling . We were a very balanced offense. I think we literally had the same amount of yards passing and rushing [135 rushing, 139 passing].

"Honestly, I don't really care if I get the ball five times a game or 30 times a game as long as we go out there and get that win."

We're winning games.

We're moving the ball.

We're getting 1st downs.

If these little gestures help the player get into the right mindset and it contributes to the above, then I'm all for it. I actually didn't really notice either gesture that much until reading this thread. Which makes me think that neither stood out as obnoxious or over the top to me, while watching the game.

One thing I do notice though, is that there's plenty of fans who aren't happy unless the team wins the way that they want them to win, which I do find cringeworthy.

What I don't like about it is he gets burned, guy drops the ball, and he is doing his shutdown symbol...

Do it when it's validated but you didn't shut the guy down because he dropped the ball.

But is it a shutdown symbol or just an exaggerated incomplete symbol? To me, he's celebrating the incompletion to the player he's covering. Don't know if that's always worth celebrating so strongly, but if it keeps him confident, I'm all for it.

Well then Irvin was a jackass as well. Myself I want guys pumped up and showing it since it does help fire other players up as well. Right now this team needs to show as much fire in their bellies as they can because others feed off of it.

Receivers do the same thing when they catch one. It's all part of being a guy on an island with 10 cameras on you all the time. You give and you get. As long as you keep your confidence up and don't get a penalty, I don't really care what you do between plays as long as the passes get defended and the first downs get made.

I don't want to come off as someone bashing the young man. His positives obviously outweigh any negatives. He looks to be continuing to learn how to be a pro and improving each week. But he's obviously still a work in progress, like any rookie usually is.

Pretty much. Team won. Came out relatively unscathed. If all we got to complain about are excessive, but non-penalized, celebrations,, then I'd say "today was a good day." ~ice cube voice

Definitely, the positives far, far outweigh the negatives.

I didn't care much for Williams' first down celebrations, but I do give him points for changing it up at times, like taking out a first-down arrow from his quiver and then firing his hand forward for the first-down symbol.

I agree that it was overdone, too, though ... much like Michael Irvin's. Of course, Irvin seemed to do his out of genuine joy which made it much easier to like.

Don't have a problem with it at all. If they use that as fuel to up their game and keep their momentum going then fine. Was it annoying at times? Sure. But I'll take it all day if they keep up their play.
