More Details on Why Pickens Wore Out His Welcome with Steelers?

This quote courtesy of former NFL receiver TJ Houshmandzedah but there are other interesting ones in the article from Tom Pelissero and Jeff Howe of the Athletic.

“George Pickens had stepped over and crossed the line a bit too many times and I know people that play with the Steelers. He’d be late for the team plane that would be flying out to away games multiple times. He’d be late to get on the team bus and they had enough of it,”

Great character

If Pickens eventually wants a rewarding contract, what he does in Dallas will be watched closely to see exactly how he conducts himself. I'm reasonably sure he realizes that and might become someone who deserves what he's likely to be offered in the future.

It remains to be seen if he'll do all that's expected of him, whether he's destined to remain with the Cowboys or not. It only serves his cause to put his best foot forward during his stay with Dallas.

He'll surely be watched closely in the year that's about to be fully exposed. If he falters, it certainly won't go unnoticed. If he has a brain in his head, he'll make sure to act accordingly. If not, it will be that much easier to allow him to depart. His conduct will affect his future contracts. I suspect he knows it.

Your sarcasm isn't lost but Pickens has millions of reasons to toe the line...he wants that monster payday. Only way he gets it is with a big year without drama.
It will substitute for a early I.Q. test

Chronic lateness is something people have to reprogram themselves out of. We've probably all known people who are always late everywhere they go. Some of them just seem to accept that that is just the way it is, that they can't help it.
That's me, it is part of my M.O.
