I don't know about the rest of you, but it is refreshing to get excited about either unit getting on the field.

* Offense gets the ball first, Dak drives them 95 yards for a TD
* Defense comes out - HERE COMES JAYLON
* Offense gets the ball, drives inside the 20 before the fumble
* Defense comes out - Jaylon gets his first tackle!

In the last few years (before 2016) it was always, "c'mon, let's score and DON'T let Tony get hurt" and then, when the defense comes out "I am gonna close my eyes and hope that the defense holds after a few first down to force a punt"

I know that in the past, once my adult beverages forced a restroom break, I would generally reserve the time the defense was on the field, but during Pre-Game 3, I had to wait for the first quarter to end!

Now, the offense looks to be dynamic, and Zeke wasn't in the game, nor did we see Switzer at all or Rico in the first half (I got called away and couldn't watch the 2nd half); but to get excited to see Jaylon in there and we didn't see him with Lee or our spiffy new CB's yet, there is a lot to be excited about on defense

Drinking like a pro tip of the day:

Only use the restroom after scores and change of possessions. This may require running and scaring kids, cats, wives etc. Don't be afraid to use some moves you've seen on the game if necessary. Including head slap and or swim moves.

oh, the cat and dogs got the "get out of the way" even when the first quarter ended, but when I came back, it was like pushing the ocean back with a broom, the dogs were back on top of me to watch the 2nd quarter

Honestly, what I want to see is Awuzie, Lewis and Woods. All were out with hamstrings.

I don't trust Carroll. I know some of the media and some here have talked about how's he looked good in camp but I have seen enough of Carroll up here in Philly to know that I can't trust him.

I was really hoping at this point, we would be seeing good stuff from Awuzie or Lewis or both.

Offense was in mid season form.....And as great as it was to see Jaylon Smith his first game in almost 700 days, he still has a way to go, stopping and changing directions is still an issue for him because of the nerve issue....but happy for the young man to finally get on the field..

I don't think I've ever seen this kind of depth at the running back position for the Cowboys in it's history and if there was some doubts about keeping four running backs, Smith answered that last night..

But looking at those offense as a whole, there really isn't a weakness, even the wide receiver position is pretty deep, and we haven't even seen Switzer yet and Dallas may be forced to keep six receivers, and personally I think they should keep Noah Brown, he will get picked up by another team in a heartbeat, this guy has the NFL size, attitude and upside for the position.. Tight end position is pretty deep, Gathers is making this team so Dallas is keeping four, Witten, Hanna, Swaim and Gathers.....Dallas may be forced to go light at the offensive line position keeping only 8 or 9 at most...

And last night proved to me Cooper Rush is a better option than Kellen Moore, He has more of an upside.....I've seen enough of Moore, time for him to go, nobody is picking him up if he's cut so he'll be there for Dallas to resign if something happens to Dak

I agree. Those 3 guys being out was a downer. And Switzer continues to be out. Taco fails to impress. Tapper does little to nothing.

I'd say the defense by far.

I feel like we know what we'll have on offense, sure there are a few questions, specifically at LG, which looks to be Cooper at this point and to a much lesser extent, La'el Collins, but I think we are really going to be hitting on all cylinders come week 1. On defense, I really want to see the young DBs play some more and of course more Jaylon Smith.

Beasley was on the post game show last night. On his interview they asked him about Switzer. He said he looks ready to return to practice next week. But that is up to the coach, like he caught himself, so did not want to say he will be back for sure.
Guess he should have quoted Jason and said day to day....lol...

Both were fine last night. You seem caught up in just sack numbers.

Both will make the team.

Taco has improved week to week so far. That's a good thing, no where need the pass rusher we all want but as long as he shows improvement I am happy. He was causing quite a bit of havoc last night. I think he just needs reps and continued coaching. He seems like a good kid. It is a real shame Irving is going to be out. You can see he is a nightmare for Oline-men.

Sure they will make the team. I would hope so given Taco was our first round pick. Both players were unimpressive again. Taco didnt even record a single stat.

I expect more out of first round picks. He didnt even record a single stat. And the Colts do NOT have a good Oline. I would say without a doubt that Taco has disappointed in my eyes.

I guess you didnt watch the game. Im not saying the guy beast out but he did apply some pressures or was close to a few. He will have to learn how to finish.

LOL........And why didnt I watch the game? Because you dont agree with me?

Why do you types always get insulted that I am not impressed by Taco?

YOu give your opinion, and I will give mine. He looks like a rookie that is struggling. Thats my take. If that makes you upset, that isnt my problem. He didnt even record a tackle. If that impresses you then by all means jump for joy. I expect more out of my first round picks. Higher standards are nothing to be insulted about.

Tapper is even less impressive in my opinion. If you need something positive said about Taco, I believe he will become the better player.
