More exited to see offense or defense in Game 3?

I expect more out of first round picks. He didnt even record a single stat. And the Colts do NOT have a good Oline. I would say without a doubt that Taco has disappointed in my eyes.

Ehhh I would usually agree but that pick was a low first round and there was a pretty large run on the best pass rushers before we got there. If anything it will be whether the decision to go Charlton vs Watt. That's the only thing I am not liking. Proof will be in the pudding. If Taco ends up a Greg Ellis type player, we'll be lucky I think.

Gregg "almost" Ellis?

That would be great. Taco "almost" Charltan?

The offense is set and solid. I am interested in the Defense and how its going to shake out for the season.

Drinking like a pro tip of the day:

Only use the restroom after scores and change of possessions. This may require running and scaring kids, cats, wives etc. Don't be afraid to use some moves you've seen on the game if necessary. Including head slap and or swim moves.
Wisdom to live by... tbh.

Offense, especially with rush with and vs the ones. Maybe switz sighting as well. Sadly don't expect much from the defense. If someone runs right at jaylon and doesn't juke he can make the tackle otherwise. He looked painfully awkward/ ginger. I'm really pulling for the kid though.

I don't know about the rest of you, but it is refreshing to get excited about either unit getting on the field.

* Offense gets the ball first, Dak drives them 95 yards for a TD
* Defense comes out - HERE COMES JAYLON
* Offense gets the ball, drives inside the 20 before the fumble
* Defense comes out - Jaylon gets his first tackle!

In the last few years (before 2016) it was always, "c'mon, let's score and DON'T let Tony get hurt" and then, when the defense comes out "I am gonna close my eyes and hope that the defense holds after a few first down to force a punt"

I know that in the past, once my adult beverages forced a restroom break, I would generally reserve the time the defense was on the field, but during Pre-Game 3, I had to wait for the first quarter to end!

Now, the offense looks to be dynamic, and Zeke wasn't in the game, nor did we see Switzer at all or Rico in the first half (I got called away and couldn't watch the 2nd half); but to get excited to see Jaylon in there and we didn't see him with Lee or our spiffy new CB's yet, there is a lot to be excited about on defense

What you said is all well and good, but what I was watching was the DL. The Colts are in trouble this year if that was the best they could do on OL. Luck should stay home until the Colts do something about their OL. OK, so the Cowboys where playing against a semi pro football team. The best DLmen are out until after the season begins. What we saw was an average DL playing with nothing exciting to see. I still believe that the secondary is going to be exposed early if we do not get better DL play on the QB.

The offense looked good against a semi pro team and that was good for a pre-season game. Against better DLs I do not believe that the Cowboys will run as good as we saw Saturday. What was good to see was the coordination between QB and receivers. To me it looks like the passing game may have to carry the offense for a while.

In short, I believe that the Cowboys will struggle the first set of games until all the pieces are in place and the new players learn what they need to do.

The defense is more interesting because it needs overall help the most. The secondary and front seven strongly demand our attention. The offense is mainly interesting from the aspect of being needy for a backup QB and a LG. Cooper Rush and others like Gathers and the rookie receivers are gaining more interest in every game played. Rod Smith has gained my attention as well.

From the perspective of simply enjoying one over the other, the offense is well ahead of the defense. Hopefully, the defense will step up in the preseason games that remain to be played and perhaps inspire a respectable measure of confidence. Actually, both units are interesting to me, albeit in their individually distinctive ways.

I think offensively this team has SB talent. Defense is still a big concern and right now with so many guys missing on defense it is hard to know what we may have. Defensive front still a concern and knowing that when the season starts some of these guys will not be able to play is bothersome.

People who bury rookies based on statistics from a couple of preseason games crack me up.

I'm looking forward to the defense, but I want to see if Cooper can repeat his performance.

The offense of course.

The defense is what it is. It's not ever going to be something we can fully depend on but it can be good enough to get the job done.

The most interesting thing on defense right now is watching Jaylon look lightning quick going forward and look like a fish out of water when he was to go east or west.
