More hate for Romo

I agree. QB have bad days and Romo had a bad day vs Det. Since then Romo has thrown 12 TD passes and 2 ints.

Let his haters have their agenda because nothing he will do is going to change their minds
Most sports talk has been very complimentary of Romo as of late. Mike and Mike and Cowherd have been praising him all morning. It's not like there's widespread dismissal of how he's been playing.

Ha, I hear ya bud. Speaking of Clayton, he was the one last week in his mailbag chat essentially saying it looks like the Cowboys are "stuck" with Romo this year, as McGee isn't ready.
I like this kind of stuck.

His next INT will be almost like a Federal Indictment. You heard it here first.

What gets me is Tony caught hell after the Det game and rightfully so throwing 3 ints that killed us.

Aikman asked in the interview pre game if those 3 ints vs Det made Romo more careful with his passes and Romo stated yes.

Since the Det game Romo has thrown 2 picks in 6 games and 12 TD passes. Right now Romo is being smart with the ball putting in where his WR have a chance without trying to thread the needle all the time.

Is there a handy source for this? I believe you, but if I say this to someone, I would like to be able to point to the source.

Thanks.

One of the announcers mentioned it on the broadcast a few games back.

This probably would't hold up in court but I'm pretty sure it's true.

Absolutely. Among quarterbacks who haven't missed several-or-more starts, I believe only three or four have thrown fewer picks than Romo. And I believe he has just one lost fumble this season. But that won't matter.

Not to take anything away from Tony, but I partially credit this to our new found running game. With Murray and Fiametta leading the charge, Garrett can open up the playbook and take some of the load off Romo. This has allowed Romo to not take so many risks.

This is why the internet has killed the profession of sports writer ...

In this he states, "Eli has been playing like the evil twin of Tony Romo."

Let's think about that a moment ..

First, let's focus on "evil" .. since when is the opposite of "good" in sports "evil"?

Second, let's focus on "evil twin" .. even if you assume by "evil" the writer means "bad", would saying he is the "bad twin" of Romo not mean that he is the opposite of Romo and as such, mean he's saying Romo is the good player while Eli is the bad version of Romo, the good player?

Sadly, I'm not trying be funny. I miss the days when sports writers were skilled professionals rather than former bloggers.

Was thinking the exact same thing..

I agree. Winning is about team and if we can be more balanced it takes the load of Romo and puts defense in situations where they can't just tee off on Romo. Tony has taken heat at times for being careless with the ball and now he is working on doing a better job of protecting it yet still being able to step up and hit big plays for his team

Unfortunately for the Cowboys fan, this is a show me league. When Romo leads this team to the Super Bowl, then the world will praise Romo, and you won't be able to get the media off his jock.

But until then, only fans of the Cowboys, and the occasional media personality will give him props. Romo is slowly bringing me back to his die-hard fan club.

I think theogt wanted the 4th quarter stats, not the all time stats. I too had seen it shown on TV at some point, but fuzzy recollection isn't a reliable citation source...

Ok, thanks, so he is 3th. Not to shabby.

My bad though...the link I provided is career QB rating and not 4th QTR rating!

Could it be that there is a correlation between ELI and the schedule in regards to his sliding QB rating? The Giants had a cupcake schedule the first half of the season. All I heard was that ELI was having the season of his life. Let's see at the end of the year what his stats are.

Tebow gets carried an entire game by his defense and running game and when he manages to finally put together a scoring drive he's "just a winner". Romo has to put a nonexistent running game and bad defense on his shoulders to win a game with two critical drives late in the game and overtime and he's still a "choker".

Aren't media narratives fun?

God people will never let that Lions game go. He's not allowed to have one bad game.

I know, Eli had 25 picks last year - 25!!!, He has had 20 or more twice in his career, Romo has not done that once, but Romo is the interception guy, yeah whatever

I don't know of any free situational stats rankings, but espn does give career situational stats, and it looks like Romo has a 100.2 rating for his career in the 4th quarter.

Yes.
When they run "crunch time" stats, Tony is right up there near the very top.
Yet even on this site, there are some that say he always screws it up in crunch time.

It really is a national epidemic of selective memory disease.
