More impressive, the defensive stand or the 98 yards offensive score?

Tough call, but I think the offensive drive at the end was more impressive. The Texans' starting RB was out on the goal line stand, and while it was still pretty good to stuff them there, the efficiency of that drive was premium.

I disagree. The defense had very short fields to defend, thanks to the turnovers. I don't think the Texans scored a TD driving the length of the field.
Defense was just as bad. Gave up TD's on those turnovers, when their offense got the ball at the 1, gave up huge run that led to points.

All gafs aside, what do you think was more impressive?
Defense making a goalline stance?
Offense going the length of the field in 3 minutes for the go ahead touchdown?

Ya really looked like the Texans wanted to score on that play.:muttley:
Can you say # 1 pick overall?

Dlaw was clutch yesterday.. I would say the defensive stand was much more impressive. Give up a score there and it’s over.

there was plenty of time left for a long td drive.

It's a lot harder to prevent a score from the 20 or 30 than it is when you have more field and more opportunities. They didn't play well, but they weren't as bad as the offense, IMO.

BOTH they both needed to make up for bad 45mins of football..same with the STs , play calls, etc we got that 50 yard FG, the defensive stand and offensive 98 yard drive..TEAM Game TEAM win.. Team played bad a lot of the game and made up for it.

Both pretty equal IMO. I can't recall the last must have goal line stand post 90s era by a Cowboys defense, and that 98 yard drive in response was the most clutch in the Dak era.

Defense played pretty well vs the run, not so much vs the pass. Houston was 20 of 27 passing and Cowboys got little pressure on Houston QB's. Houston was able to covert 50% on 3rd down and took TOP

I was most impressed with the 98 yard scoring drive because it was do or die and Dak was coming off an INT the previous possession. Our first play on our final possession was a QB sneak to give us some room. Although Dak had a bad game he maintained his poise on that drive and got it done when we really needed him. I’m relieved we won the game but the Cowboys have a lot of improving to do if they’re going to advance in the playoffs.

Houston not kicking a FG was a head scratcher. But Houston is a bad team.
I actually do get it. They were thinking a 6 point lead wasn't helpful. 10 points, it's a win. Offense was playing like crap, and even if they don't get it.. Dak has to go 98 yards for a TD or at least a game tieing fieldgoal. Well.. they betted wrong, but I would have done the same thing. Luckily, our defense made a stop and luckily their lack of QB experience because it was a busted play and he went the wrong way on the run in.

True but had Houston took the 3 and go up by 6 they would have only needed to get into FG range to win instead they gave up the TD and had to have a TD to pull the game out.

Yet its offset by our Offense going for it on 4th and 1 at the goal line and not getting it and not chipping in an easy Fg. we can do that all game. none of it matters. we got the Win.

The poster below your post sums up my thoughts. But I get it you never know, they kick the FG and turpin has a big return or Dallas has to drive 75 yards. But I think you make them go for the TD regardless their defense was stymieing the Dallas Offense all game.

Not sure what Dallas getting stuffs at the goal line trailing in the game and Houston going up by 6 with a little over 2 min has to do with each other? Frankly I was glad to see Houston go for it instead of taking a 6 point lead. Cowboys only needed FG range to tie the game up and instead we got the TD but still come time on the clock Houston got to mid field but because of the choice they made had to get a TD instead of a game winning FG. We got the win and that is all I cared about

we both passed on FG in the game.... many teams go for the TD in that situation. sorry, especially a 1 win team They are going for win vs a tie or loss.. made sense No ifs and butts in any game. so i fail to see your point. Games over its in the books,..
no ifs and buts can change an outcome. What if they did attempt a FG and it was blocked OR IF the snap was over the head of the holder. If if if if if

I mean i can if an butt all the easy Tds we dropped , TWO, 3 first downs dropped, plays should have been made in the game that were open that were executed by the play called but the WR/TE dropped them. see if this but that blah blah blah..

many decisions and opportunity's lost through a game to go back and start the IF and BUT games!!!

these debates are stupid so ill add my stupid opinion as well.

"Never apologize for a victory in the NFL", the great Landry said this many around the league understand any given Sunday and other players come to play on the other side.

Not apologizing. I felt Houston should have taken the 3 that is all. I had no problem with Dallas going for it on 4th and goal because there was still ample time in the game. If I was a fan of the Texans I would be questioning why not take the 3 that is all.

Clearly the D preventing the pick 6 and making the goal line stand as without it the team lose. Baker Mayfield led a similar game winning drive last week and he's a below average QB - arguably a huge bust. So Prescott scoring a TD against the worst team in football with plenty of time remaining and timeouts in 4 down territory is standard for an NFL starting QB.
It’s not standard to go 98 yards! Their defense was playing well, and Dak brilliantly moved our O down the field throwing into tight windows throughout the drive.

Both the defensive stance, and the 98 yard drive were impressive, but the 98 yard drive was easily more impressive.

A lot of teams go for the TD in that situation. If you don’t get it the other team is pinned back at the 1-2 yard line. There D was playing well. They trusted their D!

For me it was the game winning drive. It’s hard to go that far without the big penalty or a TO. It was a vintage drive and Dak was magnificent when he had to be. Clutch catch by Shultz to get us to first and goal and great call on the 3rd down run.
