More impressive, the defensive stand or the 98 yards offensive score?

The 98 yard drive was completely boss. That is what we need from Dak. That is what we needed last year in the playoffs. We know he can do it against the Texans. Can he do it against the Niners when we need it the most? Time will tell.

Both were impressive, but that D stand was more impressive. Giving them the ball inside the 10, our D gassed, and all the momentum with the Texans. They gutted it out and made a stop that a championship D makes. Not to take away from what Dak and the O did for the win, but the D reversed the momentum that allowed the heroic drive.

For me it was the game winning drive. It’s hard to go that far without the big penalty or a TO. It was a vintage drive and Dak was magnificent when he had to be. Clutch catch by Shultz to get us to first and goal and great call on the 3rd down run.
I loved the 3rd down run for a TD. Passing is so much more risky in that situation.

A lot of teams go for the TD in that situation. If you don’t get it the other team is pinned back at the 1-2 yard line. There D was playing well. They trusted their D!

yeah and Dallas just needed 3 to send it to overtime.

The goal line stand, they may have got lucky that the QB ran the wrong way at first, therefore allowing the defense to swarm up field to him as he reversed direction. If the play was executed the way it was supposed to, we don't know the results. But then again the defense may have showed something that confused him also.
None the less it was still impressive.

I will go with the 98 yard TD drive for my answer. As that is hard to do as well. But with the way the offense was struggling in the passing game. They came alive.
But we seen Dak drive them down field for scores before like that.

Our defense is just not physical enough. Especially at the LB spot. And our linebackers don't get int's. When they do make tackles it's usually up the field not behind the line. Our corners are not good run support corners. Wilson ad Kearse are physical guys. Hankins is another but after them? I wouldn't name anyone else. I've put out a missing person on Micha Parson. But I was never impressed with him as a run stopping LB to begin with. Pass rusher yes- at times. I just don't think the team as a whole is physical enough on the field. I saw the 90's defense. They were killers. This team is more like average at best. No one goes into a Dallas game fearing their physicalness. For me this is a major issue in Dallas -not only this year but past years as well under McCarthy and others. I think practicing in Texas when camp opens. Versus California is the area I'd start with first. I just want these Boyz to get more physical. Plain and simple.

Defense was just as bad. Gave up TD's on those turnovers, when their offense got the ball at the 1, gave up huge run that led to points.
The turnovers were at the 24 and 27, and another at the 4. To be sure the defense doesn't have to give up TDs even with those short fields, but that's a tough spot to put the defense in.

Nothing about yesterdays win was impressive for Dallas.

For Houston to nearly beat a good Cowboys team was impressive.

Clearly the D preventing the pick 6 and making the goal line stand as without it the team lose. Baker Mayfield led a similar game winning drive last week and he's a below average QB - arguably a huge bust. So Prescott scoring a TD against the worst team in football with plenty of time remaining and timeouts in 4 down territory is standard for an NFL starting QB.
This is a ridiculous view. A 98 yard drive to win a game is not the norm, even if Baker Mayfield did it.

It is, was they claim this defense is elite, have at least hold them to a FG in one of those 2 earlier on.

This defense is not elite. Anyone claiming that isn't realistic. The defense is opportunistic and can rush the passer (maybe only when Micah is Micah apparently). I agree that I would hope the D could hold one of those to a FG. But 3 turnovers within shadow of the red zone is pretty bad spot to put any defense in.

Not apologizing. I felt Houston should have taken the 3 that is all. I had no problem with Dallas going for it on 4th and goal because there was still ample time in the game. If I was a fan of the Texans I would be questioning why not take the 3 that is all.
you said that is all too many times after saying that is all..hmm ill trust NFL coaches over you as ive seen them go for it many more times than the fg, that is truly ALL.!!

Fine, coaches get 2nd guessed all the time including ours. smith called it the way he did and has to live with it and done so throughout the season. Good chance he will be gone next year

H Town figured that had us beat pinning us at the two yard line. Dallas hadn't moved the ball that far all game.

This team has grit. Hence, this team is dangerous.

Taking a positive from a horrible showing pre the last D stand and O series, the team showed a lot of determination to just not give up... Hopefully those 2 series are the spark to ignite greater things going forward.

Re Dak and Int’s I wonder how many of his are the result of tipped balls etc. Didn’t see the game on TV so just followed it on ESPN game cast. Once I read some of the detail it looks like he didn’t just throw it to a defender....

All gafs aside, what do you think was more impressive?
Defense making a goalline stance?
Offense going the length of the field in 3 minutes for the go ahead touchdown?
defensive stand. its difficult to make a stop that close to the endzone. and they had been running on us very successfully. you knew they had to do it for 4 downs. the defense dug in and made plays.

Against the worst team in the league with plenty of time plus timeouts in 4 down territory. It's standard. If he did it against a defense like the 49ers then I would tip by hat to him.
