Many on here said everyone was too harsh on Heaths play. Undrafted young etc.
I didn't want to hear it. I said "he is not good at football"
Maybe I was wrong. He made a couple plays that were encouraging. Wilcox hasn't yet.

Marinelli sees these guys every day and I have no doubt it he feel Heath is out performing Wilcox then he will put Heath in the starting lineup.

fans have no patients. most players need to be developed and in the cap era you have to develope mid and late round picks more than ever. but you also have to allow them time to develope. people wanted scandrick cut at this point in his career but thankfully the coaches kept playing him and letting him learn.if you don't have the patients to develope players then all you have on your team are the very few who come in ready to play right away, and high cost free agents.
i don't know if heath or wilcox will develope into solid players, be busts, or be super stars and no one else does either. this league is full of player who took a few years to develope their game and the teams who took the time to develope them are reaping those rewards. but seems like fans here want everyone to be an instant super star and thats just not reality

Don't mess with Wilcox please. He's only 23, still learning a fairly new position, and you have to remember he played at Georgia Southern. Let him learn the game thru experience. Heath is a nobody.

What can ya tell me about how Heath compares to Conte?

Heath hasn't made a lunging superman interception on MNF to date.

The reality isnt is heath better than Wilcox. Is Wilcox better than Church? Wilcox is more of a SS, and cover better than Church. Church is not a long term solution thats really why Hamilton may get serious time when he gets back...And Church play more nickel lb..but with Mcclain lookin that good do i even take a lb out?

Still think Church is the best safety on our roster and he's signed for basically nothing.

LOL and boot one of the best ST players on the team? Good strategy: give JJ the job see if he can do it, cut the ST ace who might have upside on D, and draft JJ's replacement if he stinks it up.

Keep in mind it was Heath that gunned that Titan down at the 14 with a snot-bubbler. Not ST ace CJ Spillman- maybe a better Heath comparison? It was also Heath that planted the Titan about to RAC to the endzone and left him also reeling.

If Hamilton was better than Heath or JJ, he'd be playing. He's not.

Snot-bubbler? That's a new one.

Also, Jakar Hamilton was suspended prior to the season starting for four games due to missing his league mandated drug test. FYI.

He is most "certified" we have right now n its good to have him at bargain. But I definetly feel like we shouldnt resign him to some long term contract. I just dont see him on this team in the future..would rather have a duo that can actually cover TEs in todays NFL.

Thank you!!! Just didn't want to be the broken record. Church is one of the primary culprits in coverage lapses and this team consistently tries to field a D with two starting SS's...year after year...BUT they are interchangeable, etc. Dallas PR is good.

Even the elite safeties (I don't consider there to be many) will get eaten up by an athletic TE one on one. It's just too hard. A TE is designed to be quicker than a LB and stronger than a DB.

Why exactly do you think Wilcox deserves more of a chance than Heath? If Heath is a nobody then what exactly is Wilcox?

Even saying that, are you saying we shouldnt be expecting our safeties of future to do so? You know how hard it is to beat an OT in this league? Yet we expect our DE to do their jobs and produce..

Wilcox was never raped in a game like Heath was in the Detroit game last year. Did Heath play safety throughout his career in college? Why was Heath behind Hamilton and Wilcox in training camps?..The coaches obviously can see more than us fans..heck we dont even see all 22 tape so how can you even evaluate our safeties?

Good question, who's evaluating? Not me. If you'd taken the time to read my post I asked why exactly Wilcox deserves anything while Heath is considered "a nobody". That's not an evaluation it's a question.

To answer your question, yes Heath played safety throughout his college career 2009, 2010, and 2011. No Wilcox did not play safety his entire college career but was converted from receiver to safety as a senior.

I'm aware Jakar isn't available to play. My point is Jakar was undrafted like Heath in the same season yet found himself on the PS while Heath ended up starting several games. My guess would be... the coaching staff thinks he is the better player thus far?

I must of misread your post...as far as the difference between Heath and Hamilton, at this point I think we are splitting hairs in mediocrity. I wouldn't have either one of them starting at Safety if I could help it...but with the Cap, I understand you have to make sacrifices in talent at certain positions.
