I'll try not to rehash too much.

1. That was the fullest I've seen the stadium for a preseason game since the first season in the new place. There's a tangible optimism floating through there. Decent showing of Vikings fans, but there are a lot of transplants here from up there.

2. What is it with people? Preseason games are the worst, but what is it with the over-drinking at football games? I've got this loser behind me on beer 12 screaming after every Romo completion "F___ all ya'll that think Romo can't play. You don't know what the f___ you're talking about." I'm there with my very young kid. He's not rare at a preseason game, and I know people sell their tickets for nothing to these cats, but c'mon, why is our society going the lowest-common-denominator route so fast? The world is being overcome with losers. What is so fun about going to an NFL game and getting wasted like it's your first beer, over and over and over. Fortunately, the regular season is better, especially where I sit, but they're still all around all the time. The night game against the Giants will have a lot of problems as usual. And Cowboys Stadium is FAR better than most stadiums, which is even scarier. Again, we're not raising our kids, and they're growing up into a massive tribe of a-holes.

3. Sean Lee looked like Sean Lee. Roaming all over the place with speed and purpose. Weak side linebacker suits him very well, so hopefully he can have better fortune with injuries and do his thing. He'll make a big difference. Also, Gachkar looked OK in the middle, which surprised me. Also doesn't say much about their confidence in Brinkley, who could be getting cut tomorrow.

4. Brandon Carr looked good. He was tight on his coverage all game, and the one long one on him was an absolutely perfect pass that Derrelle Revis couldn't have stopped. Claiborne also looked pretty good.

5. Randy Gregory looks like the best player in the draft. I've watched him closely all preseason, and I haven't seen a snap yet where he didn't get some kind of movement or pressure. He's a handful. And when they put the front up with him and Lawrence, Hardy, and Crawford out there, it was a jail break to the QB. That will be GLORIOUS to watch this season. And it will make 3rd downs much harder to convert, and create a ton of balls up for grabs, too. Rod Marinelli is going to have so much fun with this, especially when Hardy gets back.

5. Interestingly, they had Byron Jones at safety a LOT. I think that's where his long-term future lies, and that's mostly what Dallas needs. He looked a little lost at times, and he got fooled on the 2-point conversion, but you can see his range out there. Just a matter of time. I like him back there on obvious passing downs, and I think dime package will be mostly when he plays this year unless more guys get hurt.

6. Romo is going to tear it up. That ball he zipped to Williams in traffic had some mustard on it. He feels a lot better than a year ago.

7. McFadden looked pretty good, but I'm not worried about Randle being able to run better. He simply didn't have the gaping holes that McFadden did. However, Randle struggled in pass protection, and that could be a problem that McFadden could solve. I think the coaches are really concerned about Randle in that regard.

8. As others have stated, do NOT put Beasley in punt returns. He's gonna get kilt. Way too valuable on offense to risk up there. Just fair catch all year if that's who they use, please.

9. Please, please, please, I hope the Vikings cut Hill or Heineke. I'd take either one over our backup blowhards.

10. Jason Garrett is feeling that new contract. He's working refs over, and he's in more command of the sideline than before, and he already was before.

Your #2 is spot on. This is why I have not taken my kids to any games, and will not take them until they are a little older.

It's not usually like that in the better seats during the regular season, but you get some yahoos during the preaseason.

Dude paid $10 for his ticket, then dropped $100 on 12 beers at the stadium. That's the kind of financial planning that puts people where they are. LOL

You can report that abusive language and they will ask them to stop, if not, they will remove them.
There is a stadium app, you may be able to use that to report them.
They also advertise on the video board, a number to text to report disturbances.

I know that not many want to be that person. But if it was really bad, then do it. But I would hope people use discretion, and not report because someone had a slip of the tongue. But if repeated and continually, yes, because it effects more people than one may think.

I'm not grown up enough for that. I just confront them. LOL. This guy left pretty quickly, so I didn't have to.

Many times, I've walked up to guys and said very arrogantly, "look, dude, I'm a season ticket holder and you're not. All I have to do is go tell that lady over there to kick you out, and she will, no questions asked, because I'm a season ticket holder, and you're not. Now chill and enjoy the game, but that's where we stand right now."

Right. I always get the...I will never pay that much money to see them play and put money into Jerry's pockets, expensive beer, food, blah, blah, blah.....
I respond with different things, or usually not at all, as it is a waste of my time. But when I respond they usually keep quiet. As everyone has their stuff they spend money on, most of it is wasted, well wasted depending on ones opinions.

A majority of these fall into the same category. I asked them to figure up how much they spend on cigarettes and golf, and I mean everything in golf, clubs, green fees, clothing, shoes, and how many golf balls they truly have to buy to replace. Club maintenance, etc, then reiterate the cigarettes. They usually spend as much if not more in one year than I do. And I have expensive tickets.
now not saying golf is a waste of money, but it's what you want for what you pay. I have a better time at a Cowboys game, than I would at golf.

Then I add, how many beers they spend in a bar a day, even at $2.50 happy hour prices. These people are in a bar everyday. One that I used to own.

also I tell them, they do not have to drink or eat at the stadium. I buy a $6.00 Dr. Pepper that can last me the entire game, or most of it. I rarely buy food. If I do, so what, I spend less than at a restaurant, without the tip. I figure that is my eating out for the week. LOL.

Yes, I had done that before. Asked them to stop the foul language. I could tell the lady with her son and daughter did not like it. but wasn't saying anything. I asked them to refrain from it. They apologized and stopped, but they looked like they wanted to kill me at the time. They weren't drunk, but maybe feeling good, just the way they were most likely. I haven't done that since, nor reported anyone. But it hasn't happened either. I hear a few words here and there, and even blurted a few out myself. But when I realized it, I made the effort not to do it again.

For me, it's simple. I love watching the Cowboys play as a pastime more than anything else in the world. It's the strongest remaining tie to my youth. Now, I can afford to go to these games with my aging father, whom I watched games with since I was 6.

That, in many ways, is priceless. I have two sets of seats, one set in the club section.

And I do the same, a pretzel and a diet coke. Best money overall I ever spent. It's a blast.

Oh, I never hold anything against the random f-bomb or s-word when something bad happens. It's like when you hit your little toe on the corner of the wall in the middle of the night. Nobody can be held responsible for those reactions.

Agree with most of this esp the part about not using the bease to return punts. He is a third down machine

Reminds me...
When I was married and lived in Florida. My parents would come to visit. We bought them a sand cast alligator, about 2 foot long.
My dad said he will wait to name him, when he gets up in the middle of the night and stubs his toe on it.

One can imagine what that name was...LOL....

Erod, Can't you call or text a stadium number and have that guy escorted out? You would think there would be security around that would handle that sort of nonsense. I love beer as much as the next guy but I go to games (the few chances I can because I don't live near any teams) to watch football. I agree about the Romo piece. From what little I've seen he has that look. His body language looks better than it ever has. Tony believes. For a long time, I've always felt that his problem was himself. He just needed to get out of his way and realize he doesn't have to win it all himself. He's on a mission this and if people thought his numbers and play were great last year...I believe they'll be even better this year. Good stuff as usual, Erod.

Cool. Though if I was a season ticket holder I probably wouldn't ever kick someone out.

I was at a Dallas game a few years ago and this dude behind me dropped the F bomb a few too many times for a public place with kids around imo. Pretty loud and drank a few brews too. But I got to talking with him at halftime and found out he drove all the way from Alaska to see the game.

I would have felt horrible if he was escorted out.

Just to give everyone so hope with Randalls pass protection.

1. I don't think it's incredibly awful. He could evolve into being solid at it.

2. Felix Jones was HORRIBLE at pass pro and by the time he left Dallas he was pretty good at it.

Randall will get it figured out.

I think it's appropriate to politely ask someone to curb the profanity. Yell and scream in support of the team, but no matter what you paid or how far you travelled, there is no entitlement to shout unfiltered profanity like that. You're still in a public setting.

Would you go into a buffalo wild wings and yell words like that out? The stadium is the same thing, just more people.

Beers are only $8.50 at the Stadium? Just went to a show at Irvine Meadows and they were $12-18.

What a deal

Vaughn did not impress at all IMO. He looks like he has to have the pocket clean or it gets in his head. I am not sure he's going to make the team, at this point. Showers didn't look great either but he is earlier in his development and he bring something to ST.
