More on Rod Marinelli to TB

I hope Jerry and Jason can persuade Marinelli to stay. I think he did a lot with little. Before the season people did not expect anything from this defense and yet it was several plays by this defense that helped Cowboys advance. I have heard that is Marinelli does leave that one of the favorites to take over as DC is Matt Eberflus.

Again it seems some folks live in a world of "He's either the best in the business or he's the worst".

I think Marinelli's job can be classified as "decent". Some would say "good" and I can accept that. But neither of those words signifies "dreg of the earth coaching".

Some have to learn there's a lot of "grey area" between the two extremes– and that's OK too.

I would say better than decent given what he had to work with. It is not like he had pro bowl players all over the place he had guys who many considered Jags and he got them to play very hard and sound football. There were many big turnovers by this defense to seal the wins in several games and without those big stops this team does not make it to post season. I think to judge a coach you first have to look at what he is working with and did he get them to play above their level. I think Rod did

I would like to see Marinelli stay.

But, I can see if Jerry doesn't want to sign him to a giant contract given his age.

Personally, if I'm Jerry I would look to re-sign Marinelli and try to give him a legitimately fair offer.

If Marinelli doesn't like the offer, then we move on. If he doesn't want to listen to the offer as he's dead set on going to Tampa, then I think Marinelli is a terrible negotiator.

I'm for Eberflus. Needs some young ideas and young vision.

is there any other support from this outside of the Daily turd?

Rod did an amazing job. I'm really proud of the defense we put on the field with the players we have.

I wish we could've been more then 1st and 2nd down Warriors but our defense complimented our offense very well.

The scheme was super basic.. I'd like to see this same defense ran with a few more wrinkles.

After yesterday I think my #1 priority for this team is finding a stud DT that can rush the passer. We need a young Laroi Glover.

A simple tweet with no source, no back up, and is nothing but speculation, leads to:

Bye rod!

Bye Felicia!

We don't want you!

It's like I'm reading CZ or something.

Couldn't agree more. Laroi Glover is the perfect example. Tenacious and quick.

If it happens, it doesn't surprise me. It's a big loss from the ability of Marinelli to keep churning the roster.

I hope he stays.

As long as we have mediocre players I want a coach like Rod to just push fundamentals and make our defense more about effort then scheme.

We need all the DL we can get though. Collapsing the middle of the pocket is priority #1.

If I have to pick between Suh and Murray im going Suh all day.

Maybe Dez gets signed and Murray gets franchised?

Im really hoping to see Peterson in our backfield though if Murray wants 7.5-9 mill.

Jerry has confirmed by recent actions that there is no salary cap on coaches. He also has been apparently learning that you can't mortgage your players' cap for now, then ruin the future.

Therefore, the desire to stay the course with the staff is on him and his bank account; I'd bet he wins.
