More rumors

I can see a desire to find a QB. McGee has underwhelmed me tremendously. Dalton and, as I'm watching him, Stanzi both have something that interests me. I'm with dbair in that I just don't see how they fit in our draft dynamics right now, they are going to go early. And unless there's a Tony Romo I haven't heard of and know nothing about to be had late in the draft, I don't see them finding room in the picks for a QB.

we could draft nobody this year and i will still guarantee you that we aren't picking top 10 next year

Exactly, top 10 aint happening again. Unless we trade up for it.

sorry dude, but with our OL the way it is, if it doesn't get fixed we will be.

I said it last year we would pick top 10 if we don't address the OL and safety and I was right. I'm saying it again. We have to address OL 2out of 3 rounds, a DL and secondary and a safety in FA.

why? no one said it last year after we draft Dez but me. Tons of people thought we were for sure playoff team and I kept telling people we will be in the top 10. Teams are won in the trenches and our trenches suck right now.

I was just curious because the way you come off you make it sound like you know something as fact while Hos and I are just stating a legit option that is very well in play.

We'll see...but with so many holes on the OL, DL and secondary I dont see us wasting a fairly high pick on a QB when we have a probowl calibar QB in his prime, a proven #2 guy that we've been able to win with and a #3 guy just beginning his 3rd offseason here, thats shown some promise already.

I can see us drafting a RB and maybe even a WR, but I highly doubt we take a QB.

I'm going to second your opinion here. Nixing Wade helped a lot, but the lack of talent and depth on the lines is nothing to dismiss so quickly.

Games are also lost because of poor coaching and preparation, which is why we finished 6-10 more than anything else.

Even with a ton of injuries and awful OL play, we had a winning record with Garrett as HC.

yes under Garret we got better but no one knows how much better. WE have yet to see a full season. Colombo is done, We have one DE, and no FS. You really think we will be a great team next year with the same team. With Ball at FS, with this OL another year older. I don't, I'm not blinded by the cowboy blue glasses. I know we have weaknesses and we need to fix them. You can think your way if you want and I will think my way.

I've never seen so many mid-range QB's projected to go so high. You're looking at potentially eight of the first 40 picks going QB. There's going to be another run in the early second.

I'm convinced that we'll get a first round talent with our second round pick (provided we don't draft Quincy Carter).

trading down multiple times is how you end up with jason williams and robert brewster. No thanks.

I'll call b/s on Dalton, and b/s on Pouncey anywhere before 20

Lets see they got a statue at RT and 4 or 5 holes on defense and the first two picks will be Pouncey and Dalton. Reminds me of a couple years ago when they were in love with James Casey and were going to draft him in round 2. Casey got picked 5th round by the Texans.

Sounds like most of the league likes Dalton. He has become very popular.
Have you noticed how popular all of the QBs suddenly are? I predicted that it was going to be a draft where some QBs are reached for. I don't think we'll get Dalton because I think he will be gone before we pick at #40. If he isn't, all bets are off because Garrett loves the kid.

Thank God that people are coming to their senses about taking Tyron Smith at 9. Smith is not a top 10 player.

And I like Dalton too, but not at 40. If Cowboys are deadset on taking a QB on the first day, then why not Kaepernick? K-nick has a bigger arm, more size and is a better athlete, who has similar (albeit not as much) intangibles.

#40 is not first day.

I was thinking the same. One Ginger looking to increase the Ginger representation in the league..........

I've got my eye on this situation. Too many Gingers is never a good thing.

The trade down with St. Louis is dubious at best.

First, I better be getting your second and third round picks (plus you have to have the competency and luck to nail the extra picks), because I'm giving away the second rated OT in the last two drafts. Like the guy in NE stated, you are trading for a player, not a draft slot. If I move down that far, Tyron Smith is going to be playing in Minnesota or Detroit.

Second, I may have to play Sam Bradford in a wildcard game. Why am I going to arm him? Plus, he comes to Dallas this year.

If Dallas stays at 9, they will draft Tyron Smith. The value matches up perfectly with the need. Mayock has Smith rated number 10 now.

While the smoke screens are everywhere (and Smith has been under attack), Mayock has moved Tyron Smith from 13 to 10.

I do know the that the Titans like Dalton, too.

I have no idea what they are going to do in regards to QB, but I will probably learn more, later this week.

The Cowboys could possibly get lucky and move to number 12 or 13 and still get Smith (getting greedy). However, the Commanders could bail and spoil it. Bunting states the the Lions would take Tyron Smith over Catonzo. There is no way I'm trading with the Rams. They get a blue chip player, and you lose one.

If I trade with St. Louis, I'm getting their second rounder, period.

Or

No deal.

Wes Bunting was the first guy who stated that the Cowboys "love Tyron Smith". He was the first to mention Dallas liking Aldon Smith, too. Why isn't his name mentioned? Bunting stated in a Vela chat that Tyron Smith and Aldon Smith are the two names that he has heard the most in regards to the Cowboys liking.
