More rumors

#40 is not first day.

#40 is a 2nd round pick, which is still on the first day of the draft.

It is the 3rd round and thereafter that is on the second day now.

If the Cowboys draft a 34 DE at number 9, I'll never post again.

Hostile can ban me, and I'll be done.

Not only that.

If the Cowboys trade back and draft Watt or Jordan, Hostile can ban me. I'll be done.

If the Cowboys draft Prince Amukamara, any where, ditto.

Don't go crazy now 41, losing out on Smith is not worth yourself getting this worked up. You are too good of a poster to exile yourself over this.

Yes, #40 is a 2nd round pick.

No, it is not a day 1 pick.

Thursday, April 28th, 2011 is day 1 and round 1.

Friday, April 29th, 2011 is day 2 and rounds 2 and 3.

Saturday, April 30th, 2011 is day 3 and rounds 4 through 7.

If you doubt this, let's doubt it with money. I got 100 bucks right now that says #40 is day 2.

The first day of the draft is only first round.

Why would I ban you for those things?

Crap, just looked it up. 2nd round is day two, you are right. 2010 will be when the NFL moves to a 3 day draft and moving it to primetime.

"Let's doubt it with money?" I made a mistake, I can admit it.

I know. Just busting your chops.

Because he will throw a crazy butt tantrum if they don't pick his pet cat. We've seen it before and will see it again. (not him in particular, guys that don't get their pet cat)

Newton to the Panthers is heating up.

The Bengals and Jay Gruden love Kapernick. So they can take AJ Green at 4 and get Kapernick early 2.

Leaving the Cardinals Blaine Gabbert.

Leaving Patrick Peterson to #6

I hope Cleveland isnt too scared of the Rams jumping in front of them to 7 or 8 for Julio to trade w/ the Cowboys.

I'm really banning myself. You wouldn't really do it. I wouldn't come back under a new username, either. I would want you to really do it.

First, I think this era for the Cowboys could be over if Dallas drafted any of those players in round 1 and passed on Tyron Smith (when the value is there at 9); I'm talking about "winning" big or even getting out of the divisional round. Charlie Sheen :)

The Cowboys simply can't keep bungling the offensive line or devaluing the offensive line and expect to keep Romo healthy and expect to open holes for Felix Jones. Tyron Smith would be Felix Jones' and Tony Romo's best friend. If you could pick one player for them in this draft, Tyron Smith would be the guy. Dallas has a chance to draft the best offensive tackle in the draft and get on top of the OT run and cash in on that value at 9. If they blow it, there will be consequences, imo. I don't want to be around on here if that happens. I'd rather be banned.

Second, I don't think the Cowboys will draft Jordan, Watt, or Amukamara over Tyron Smith. I don't think Jason Garrett would approve that. If they did do it, I would be willing to quit posting for real and honor my word. Plus, see number 1. If that happens, the anti-Jerry Jones crowd could be making a whole lot of noise by October.

There will be an OT run, and the James Carpenters (he could very well be a guard/I like him at guard) and the Marcus Gilberts (could be a guard) of the world are not going to cut it for the Cowboys. Plus, you force yourself into reaching for one of them if you don't take an OT in round 1, I think. I don't like the idea of Jerry Jones moving all over the place in this draft. That is how you get the Robert "Busters" of the world.

I strongly believe the Cowboys should draft Tyron Smith, and if they took Cameron Jordan, J.J. Watt, or Prince Amukamara and didn't draft Smith, I for sure want to be banned, and you would just be doing what I wanted.

On another note:

A well connected former Vanderbilt football player and former NFL player (Corey Chavous) has predicted that the Tennessee Titans will draft
Robert Quinn and Andy Dalton. Chavous correctly predicted the Titans first round pick last year and correctly predicted the QB that they selected in last year's draft. Chavous has Vanderbilt connections, and those connections have really good Titans connections.

I'll try to confirm this with other really good sources.

I read a really good article on the Vikings; it was a good source.

I'm far from sold that the Vikings will take a DE in a deep DL draft. DE is is right up there among the very top of bust rates. They have people in their building who have been a part of drafting two busts (at DE) in the first round. (one of them was from Wisconsin by the way) Perhaps, there is a player they like on the DL, and that entices them. I'm not so sure.

They have a track record of getting DL in the middle rounds, and Jared Allen was already proven when they acquired him for a first round pick. McKinney is on the downside and struggled with speed off the edge last year, and he has an off the field history.

Tyron Smith is a safer pick for them. The value will be there if he is on the board, and where did Smith fly right after Dallas?

Minnesota

I read where they want McNabb or another vet QB. Their offensive line is in bad shape, too. This is a deep DL draft, and Dallas could get a player like Christian Ballard in round 2 or 3.

I've read where they may move Loadholt to guard, and that would open up the door for Tyron Smith. The article talked about moving McKinney to RT, too. If Smith is the highest rated player at 12, the Vikings could pull that trigger for sure.

The Eagles are a dark horse for Tyron Smith (IMO), and I bet the Cowboys are looking over their shoulder. They sure are quiet.

Cleveland, Commanders, Detroit, Minnesota, San Diego, New England, New York Giants, Philadelphia...

This is just my opinion, but I think the Cowboys do want to draft Tyron Smith, and I think they are putting some smoke screens out, in an attempt to play some mind games with the teams right behind them, all have big needs at OT. There is a risk of getting jumped (for Smith) if you look at S.F. and Tennessee. Detroit and Philadelphia are aggressive teams. Dallas may be trying to see if they can still get Smith in a trade down, but I sure wouldn't bet on it. In fact, I'd bet the other way.

I've never seen so many mid-range QB's projected to go so high. You're looking at potentially eight of the first 40 picks going QB. There's going to be another run in the early second.

I'm convinced that we'll get a first round talent with our second round pick (provided we don't draft Quincy Carter).

I was thinking the same thing.
