Morris Claiborne doesn't sound like a player looking to return to the field anytime soon for the Dallas Cowboys.
The veteran went down in the final moments of regulation against the Philadelphia Eagles with what has been labeled by the team as a groin strain, but was also reported to potentially be a sports hernia. While the former would see him return to the field soon, the latter could require surgery and force him to sit longer.
Owner Jerry Jones said just ahead of Week 9 that Claiborne would be given some time before determining if surgery was the best course of action, but stood fast to the 4-6 timeline. On Thursday, the six-year veteran spoke with Fort Worth Star-Telegram and sounded anything but optimistic about his prognosis.
"It's up in the air," Claiborne said. "We were pushing for four to six based on what the MRI looked like. I'm doing what I can. Whenever I can be back I will be back. We don't know
