Morris Claiborne doesn't sound like a player looking to return to the field anytime soon for the Dallas Cowboys.

The veteran went down in the final moments of regulation against the Philadelphia Eagles with what has been labeled by the team as a groin strain, but was also reported to potentially be a sports hernia. While the former would see him return to the field soon, the latter could require surgery and force him to sit longer.

Owner Jerry Jones said just ahead of Week 9 that Claiborne would be given some time before determining if surgery was the best course of action, but stood fast to the 4-6 timeline. On Thursday, the six-year veteran spoke with Fort Worth Star-Telegram and sounded anything but optimistic about his prognosis.

"It's up in the air," Claiborne said. "We were pushing for four to six based on what the MRI looked like. I'm doing what I can. Whenever I can be back I will be back. We don't know

Poor guy was having the best season of his career thus far.

Side note: If there's a link below the article with a picture of a beautiful woman from long ago and a caption of "Mesmerizing Historical Photos", save yourself the pain of clicking on it. She's not in any of the 48 pics. :)

Never ever ever click on anything that looks like it might be an article of some sort if it has a Sponsored by "Taboola" or "OutBrain" notation near it. The only purpose of these companies is to create the click-batiest links ever while attempting to pass it off as a real article.

Good examples are anything that contains phrases like "You won't BELEIVE what XXXXX looks like now!" or "What these 23 former child celebrities look like now is INSANE!! You won't believe #18!!11"

If there is a silver-lining here, it's that the timing was fairly decent. If the injury would have happened earlier, Scandrick wouldn't have been back, and we wouldn't know what we have in Brown. Any later and making it back for a playoff run could have been in jeopardy.

This! Mo, get healthy and ready for our playoff run.

Tom Finey was one of England's best soccer players ever. He injured his groin and was pressured into playing as his presence brought the crowds to the game. Soon after he had to retire as the groin was never able to heal. Can't rush groin injuries. Mo was giving his all and was doing his best. He can come back and do it again if he has time to heal.

Bizarre, they seemed to have waited a week for Church's surgery rather than doing it promptly - seems like it's going to be too late to get mo back for the playoffs if they postpone surgery anymore - but, perhaps the only way he plays this season is if there is no surgery. Would have been nice to get Haden before the deadline, but he might not have actually been available.

I just hope is soon, I would expect Claiborne to be depressed over this. I can see where it would be hard for him to be optimistic given all he has had to endure and for this to happen in his best season.

I hate these injuries that have no set timetable. Usually they're season enders for us. What's up with Tapper?
