Mort on ESPN - Deal close to being done

If a deal is done, what about all of the restructuring that has been done already ? Whats done is done I guess ?

Mort said last night on ESPN that all the "cuts" that happened on Thursday, won't be cut until Sunday.

Even with no slary cap we would have marginal football becuse only about 9 teams would be worth watching each sunday. The problem is we have 32 teams now due to expansion and we have not expanded the talent pool.

I totally agree. Now, as far as I know, more kids do play football now, but still. It used to be 28 teams, add 4 teams thats close to another 240 players that normally wouldnt be in the league, spread throughout the 32 teams.

Wow! I'm excited now. And to think I was looking forward to good fottball on the field again like in the good old days before the cba. It's great to hear that marginal on-filed paly of this new era will continue. Good thing we have the NFL channel to supplement us with the entertainment value lost from on-field football quality that the cba will crush.

**, I agree completely with this! i wish the CBA would go away. The NFL seemed to be doing OK before the CBA got here and I'll bet it would do OK in a post-CBA world.
