It's funny to me how the new GM is barely mentioned. Congrats Jeff Ireland, you've emerged from the shadows of a Super Bowl contender only to have your "hands off" VP of Football Operations put you right back in the shadows of a 1-15 punch line.

How many Dolphins does it take to change a tire? Only one, unless it's a blowout, then they all show up.

It's obvious that Sparano is the hire.

I gotta say, that this stinks......

Not that we can't replaced Sparano, but will he have his heart into helping our team win a championship?

It would almost be better to allow no team to interview outside their own team until the playoffs are over.

No way a team should be allowed to distract another during a playoff run.

guys, i know some of you have posted this, but mort on espn was saying that an aggreement was reached with sparano, and also by flying in sparano for interview, along with garrett, they violated league rules, if teams want to interview a coach for promotion, they have to do it at the host site of the team ala the cowboys, they arent suppose to bring him in for a visit.

also, it is reported, that only the falcons obeyed this league rule, and the baltimore ravens violated the league rule by bringing in sparano for a visit, and that is against the league rules. Mort did say that by bringing in sparano to baliimore, they probably will just get a slap on the wrist by the nfl, but that parcells could be in big trouble with the nfl. Of course Miami is totally denying this agreed contract after the playoffs etc,

but if this is true, this might warrant draft picks etc, if there was a contract done with sparano, now reports are also that sparano likes baltimore more, but i guess we will have to wait and see, but what im asking for nfl gurus and nfl draft gurus, if the dolphins did violate league rules, and so did the ravens, might we get draft compensation from them.

i know we wouldnt get the dolphins # 1 pick, but what about # 2 or # 3 pick, which would greatly help us, and maybe baltimores # 3 or # 4, that way we would have more ammunition in the draft to move up and get some good players, along with our 2 # 1 picks, so what do you guys think or heard?

They tried to comply, but since folks knew it was a sham interview, "minority" coaches declined to interview.

What are you talking about, Maurice Carthon is a serious head coaching candidate and has an excellent record to support his candidacy for either head coach or offensive coordinator. Parcells trusts Maurice Carthon. Remember guys, Parcells hired Carthon as our offensive coordinator. It doesn't matter that he hired Sean Payton just weeks later and that Payton called all the plays. Parcells trusts Maurice

Uhmm, my post was in reference to Detroit's non-compliance years ago...not Miami's current HC situation.

I was being sarcastic about Parcells attempt to interview Maurice to satisfy the Rooney Rule. Just having a little fun Wouldn't be suprised to see Parcells hire Maurice as the OC yet Sparano or some new QB coach will be asked to call all the offensive plays

Those guys will get nothing done there anyway. Fatso will be gone in 3-4 years, Ireland and Sporano will get canned after WH sells the team because they are a .500 team at best with no PO wins, just like Fatso did here.

Would that be the same fatso that had a major role in digging us out of the basement? Or a different fatso?

I'm pretty sure he meant the fatso who had a major role in digging us out of the Campo mire. I don't mean to speak for him, but I think it's safe to say that's the fatso he meant.
