Mort speculating wildly on Dallas coach

Why does Fisher's name keep coming up when he's locked in at Tennessee ?

I would be thrilled to get that guy. But they have a nice organization going over there with great fan support and a good young team where he has a lot of control, so I'm not sure why he would want to work under Jerry.

I would guess it's just that Jerry liked him, and Mort is hearing that from someone on the Cowboys side.

I heard someone -- maybe Mosley? -- saying yesterday that they'd checked into it, and the earlier speculation that Fisher could get out of his deal because Double Bird Adams forced him to play Vince Young had been disproven and would *not* work.

I would take Fischer in a heart beat, but I cannot see any situation where it's possible for him to be here. Even though they won't make the playoffs this year, they have been playing pretty good football the last 5 weeks. If they would have totally tanked this year, I suppose there might have been a slight chance he would have been let go.

On the one hand, this "young blood" rumor gives me hope. On the other hand, Mort is seldom right.

Yeah, that's my take too....just pointing out that he has won everywhere...but not really endorsing him.

Jeff Fisher would know what to do with Felix Jones, the guy his organization wanted to draft. I think he would remake the offensive line to better fit Felix Jones' talent, and I think he would keep the 34.

Also, I think he could get Dallas over the hump, because his teams are mentally tough and have played hard when out gunned in the past.

I'm not saying the Cowboys are not mentally tough, but some strategic things need to change, imo, especially on offense.
