Mosley Blog - McBriar Struggling With Holds

It hurts my brain that we have 4 games left in the season and it's an issue we haven't done anything about. Just let Romo do it. He's done it before and never had any issues with it besides that bobble in the playoffs. Even then, when that play broke down, he still nearly scored. The ability to make a play when the **** hits the fan is a good thing to have in a holder.

Here's a quote from McBriar --

"What the holder is supposed to do is catch the ball over the spot and put it down. I sometimes get ahead of myself and I catch it in front of the spot, so by the time I put it down the laces are facing any which way . . . It was a bad spin too, so that hurt us."

So maybe McBriar told Phillips it was the spot AND the laces, considering that's what he told the media.

Neither of those is even correct. The laces were out and the spin was as good as any spin.

This is why I have such trouble believing any of these excuses. They are nothing more than deflections away from the real problem of Folk being shook right now.

They are just throwing the book of all things possibly wrong and hoping one of them fits. No one can say he didn't lunge so I guess that's the sticking one.

Why can't Tony Romo take over holding duty? He's done it before and was very good at it. As for that one slip up he had in Seattle, I think anyone else would have fumbled that ball under those circumstances.
