Mosley says we have legitimate interest in Springs

So let me get this straight. Some of the posters on this board want to get rid of an "aging" WR, and don't want to sign a "aging" MLB, but they want an "aging" CB......Interesting.

If it's about money.....I'll understand.

BTW, If we can get either Chris Mcalister or S. Spings It would be a good move. So would signing a R. Lewis (if we could).

The difference is Springs won't be a starter, great depth is what he will benefit us with.

I agree, having depth is always good.

Yeah, I think the money would be a deal-maker or deal-breaker.

If Springs can still get $3 - $4 million somewhere good luck to him.

Speaking of money, I don't see Dallas getting anyone until Ware is takin' care of.

I'd love it if we got this guy. I'm not going to hold my breath but I'd certainly be thrilled if we did.

And Haynesworth's deal didn't make that any easier!

My feeling is that regardless of Ware's deal, I don't think the Cowboys will make any big-time signings but more the journeymen types to fill some holes on the roster.

No it didn't. Ware may get a 101 million dollar contract.

Due to the stars we have on this team, I didn't see Jerry signing any "BIG NAME" FA's.

Would be nice if he did. :D

how is he as far as leadership? If he's a good leader, then, I think him +Newman back there would be nice and would help the younger guys develop.

Plus...if he can move inside and play saftey...why the heck not!

Isnt this guy one of those guys that has one good year and one bad year. This is obviously not a need BUT you can never have too many good corners in this league. Why not. There isnt much out there in FA anyway this year. This would also assure Henry as to either being cut or moved to saftey.

In the 8-12 games he'll actually suit up and play, he's a really good player. He can cover really well both the slot and on the outside, and he's willing to be physical in the running game. The problem is he has a history of always being injured/hurt and missing games. Whoever signs Springs will have to accept the fact that he will certainly miss games due to injury.

So if you add him and T-New together......you get a whole year at CB :laugh1:

Says don't get too carried away because other teams are interested, but says we do have "legitimate interest" in Shawn Springs -- certainly more than we can say about Ray Lewis or other FA names being thrown around.

Unless there is some other source where he said this about "legitimate interest" all I saw from his blog entry was this:

And now there's an outside chance he could finish his career with his dad's team, the Cowboys.

That is not a lot to go on.

Skins saved 6 million by cutting him... Give him a 2 or 3 year contract at vet min and a 6 million signing bonus... He's worth it..

Told yall.

Henry's done. Jenkins isn't quite ready. Scandrick is legit. Springs would be a nice veteran addition to a unit that was forced to count on Pacan Jones last year.

Someone will likely overpay though, so I hope Jerry doesn't get too interested.

if we get him we can finally move henry to safety and hamlin over to ss

I will never understand the infactuation to move henry to safety. He still costs to much and will only get hurt.

Die hard Commanders fan here......It's no secret that while Springs is a very good DB, he will inevitabely miss about half the season due to injury. This is not going to get better with time either. We all can agree that the NFC East plays the most physical football in the league so we have to keep up with one another as far as aquisitions go( ie: you get Superman, we get kryptonite).

Having said that, so far, none of us have acquired any new WR talent yet so Springs would be the logical choice for you, as well as the fact that he is a valuable tool to you because he knows our offense. Just don't overpay and know that you're not gonna get 16 games out of him but the ones you get....will be good!
