Mosley's names to watch for on GAC today

I wonder if the Cowboys think Charles Brown could be a Guard here?

To me he plays a lot like a guard anyways.

I don't like the name Charles Brown because I can only imagine how many people would call him Charlie Brown.

Question for those in the know. Are there no suitable tackle prospects beyond round 1 for us? I get the impression form comments here that there will be a run on tackles and that anybody left at our pick in round two will be no good.

I don't picture a Cowboys' coach NOT falling head over heals for Odrick. He's Brookin on steroids, uppers, and a couple of tanks of nitro up his nose.

Don't get the comparison of a DT to our MLB?

That would be a huge shocker if Allen is there late in the 2nd.

I agree. That kid is sick. I'd hardly be upset if we took him in the first.

He hasn't been timed in the 40 yet has he?

If he keeps dodging 40's than I wouldnt be shocked to see him slide.

I think he's run 40 times before.

I don't care what he runs in the 40, lol. He passes the eyeball test.

But I really haven't been following where people are projected, who's run what, etc. I just like Allen alot.

I saw him play in a couple games and he has great range. I dont know how "fast" he is on a track, but on the field it sure looked like he was fast.

Dude. Stop.

Way to puts words in my mouth.

So what if I like Gaither. Doesn't make Charlie Brown any better or worse because of that.
Oh yeah it does Slate. No matter who we pick you will not like it as much as your pet idea and will deem it a failure. You're already doing it with a player on our team named Doug Free. There's too much evidence for a denial kid.

I hope someone better falls to us.

I wouldn't mind at all if they took Brown. He looks to my novice eye like he has real potential. Any tackle Dallas takes from USC is going to remind fans of Jacob Rogers.

And any big safety is going to immediately draw comparisons to the old RW.

I think Mays looks too slow to play safety in the NFL. I hope we avoid him, but most people's view of him will be skewed by memories of Roy Williams lagging behind somebody in coverage.

Odrick at 27? I have a hard time taking a 3-4 DE at that spot when there are potential future starters at CB, S and OT still on the board. Besides we're 4 deep at that positon with solid/good players.

I think we take a CB or OT at 27.
Odrick would actually be the best value if he even made it to 27. A few mocks lately have him going as high as Cleveland. And Odrick would be a future, if not immediate starter, at end. IMO, he would be better than Spears, Hatcher or Bowen, some of which are probably gone within a year.

Most of these other players are either slated to go in that area or even later.

Brown looks like a Guard / Tackle to me.

If the Cowboys draft him it will be interesting to see if he gets switched to Guard.

Here are some highlights and lowlights of Charles Brown.

I have to say I like the quickness he shows and his pass blocking.

After watching that, there's no questioning his athletic ability. Very light on his feet and quick. His lean physique reminds me of the Landry OTs of the 1970s (Rayfield Wright, Pat Donovan).

He looks like a better pass blocker than a run blocker. Doesn't always finish his blocks.

6'5" 303 probably needs to bulk up a bit more but he has the frame to do so

Definetely needs to bulk up. I doubt we'd see much of him in year 1. Obviously athletic.

That's not true.

If they like Free. whatever. I' have no choice but to support it. I won't make another post whining about it since I know how annoying that is.

I've made my opinion clear. Doesn't need to be repeated.

Oh brother. I live in Pac 10 country. I am no fan of Charles Brown because I don't think he fits our blocking style but that was pure nonsense.

I have to disagree here. We aren't a mauling unit anymore, or at least Garrett doesn't play them as such. With the draw and the freeze draw being a staple part of our O, it puts a lot of pressure on our line to hold up on their feet. Need athletic guys to do that, esp. on the edges.

BTW here's my theory on the Cowboy's interest in Charles Brown. He has the potential at LT that they just don't see in Free (by potential, I mean to be one of the league's best). But since Free is still on the team and looks like he can hold up quite well at LT. Free would be the starter until Brown gains enough strength to lock up LT for the foreseeable future. Hopefully within 2-3 years.
