I've been saying this for a while.

I want what the Packers did...Draft a QB in round 1 and sit him for at least 1 year and then have him take over.

But, we can't do that because Romo is on the books for something like $27 million next year.

YR

Doesn't prevent us from drafting a QB though.

Is this the Linehan influence or has Garrett learned from past mistakes? It was refreshing in any event.

No...but, you really can't bench Romo at that pay-scale.

And I would rather have the drafted QB sit out the rookie year. Mainly because I've never come across a bad QB that sat out their rookie year and said gee, him sitting out his rookie year ruined his career. Cannot say the same about QB's that started right away.

My issue is that I get the feeling that Jerry will ignore this logic. I think he wants Romo to play for 4 more years and then start any rookie QB right away.

Ugh.

If Romo ends up not being Romo anymore by the end of the season, I doubt he continues playing for more than one more season. Just my guess.

Why do you think the defense played well?

Because they were rested and we ran far more plays than the Titans did. Part of it was flat out execution on the defense's part...but the other part was that we were not throwing it 50 times today (which we've done plenty of times when the defense was playing well, i.e. versus the Chiefs last year)....so the defense was off the field and was rested. This also forces the Titans to become 1-dimensional and that helps the defense even more.

Obviously, you can't get blown out of the gates...because then you are forced to throw...but when the game is close, less is more with Romo.

YR

I'll agree to that.

You always make a good point...but right now, the question I son the table already as to longevity issues. They aren't proven yet, but they influence the direction that you take here as well.

The Titans surely weren't being touted as a weak team going into this game considering how they beat down the Chiefs at Arrowhead the first week. But, because it's our Cowboys and we won rather decisively, I can see where we got lucky with the schedulers handing the Cowboys a virtual win in week 2. Guess we lucked out.

We ddi, when we played a good team without one of their best guys, we folded faster than a lawn chair. So yes, lets not get excited like its our SB. Its just the titans. ill even scare you with a fact. we beat them before. Yea, now you need to go get a new head, because if you re impressed with this, that fact just might make you scream. Run find a friend, high five them for beating a bad team.

I don't think Romo is on the roster past 2015. There's even an outside chance he could be a June 1 cut next year. That would require a terrible season from him IMO.

In the NFL, there are no bad teams, only teams with bad records. The Titans have a LOT of talent, especially on defense, and the Cowboys dominated them.

Can't we just enjoy a win???

What? Some of you guys are ridiculous. Whine if we win and whine if we don't. Let us enjoy the victory without any of your "woe is me" bull will you?

I don't know about that. Remember last year against the Rams? We completely dominated that game. That one was more impressive to me.

Good game today. We beat up a weaker team. I'm just hoping the Super Bowl talk doesn't start after a possible 2-1 start next week.

Why would you call them a weaker team?? We went in 31/2 point underdogs, and took it to them, the way I saw it.

Our game vs Rams last year was most impressive. Lets match that next Sunday.

I like how we kept feeding Murray after the fumble. Way to show trust.

Never said I was impressed, nor did I imply that it was anything remotely close to a SB. Just not going to downplay a good win, on the road nonetheless.

Oh, and good to know that we've beaten then before.

Give Romo some more time to shake the rust off. If we can keep running like we did yesterday defenses will start to come up, hopefully another 2-3 games like yesterday and Romo will be back to his old self. Still not sold on this defense, but much much better than I expected. With Scandrick back, Melton getting stronger, Lawrence back eventually and Mincie getting back in shape maybe we can surprise some people.
