Most Excited - Gaithers/Switzer/Dez/Beasley. I love this combination of parts if Gaithers turns out to be somewhat as good as advertised. This works well with Dak who is excellent on short and intermediate routes. I also like the deadliness of this group in the red zone. You could go with 11 personnel here motion Gaithers out wide and have Switzer and Beasley in the slots. Teams would have to defend the fade/jump ball route to the outside with Dez and Gaithers and open up the middle which allows Beasley (severely underrated) and Switzer to do their thing.


Biggest Concern - The O-Line. I think if we stay healthy this O-Line could be better, but if not we might greatly miss Doug Free. Free had a similar problem that Romo had here...he was often criticized way too much and then to counter that, fans and critics would completely overrate him. The truth is more in the middle and if we have below average play at RT, we won't be as good as last year.


Bold Prediction - The general trend for 2nd year starting QB's that had a great 1st season as a starter si that they drop in production. The high end this season would be a Roethlisberger or Aaron Rodgers type scenario where the QB may not be more effective than his 1st season as a starter, but he's still really good and the team is still really good and other teams got worse. Of course, Dak really hasn't followed any trend. He didn't play like a rookie last year and every time critics claimed the other shoe would drop...he just played better.

My prediction is that we go to the Super Bowl and lose to the Patriots.

I'm excited to see this offense with Dak as the clear-cut leader. Because of his maturity I trust him to run it efficiently and productively and I don't expect any "sophomore slump".

I'm concerned about lack of pass-rush. We have depth and that will help but we desperately need someone to step up and be a consistent difference-maker on the D-line.

My bold prediction kind of ties in with my concern...
I'm going to go on record saying Maliek Collins will lead this team in sacks for the 2017 season.

What are you most excited about for the upcoming season? What is your biggest concern for our Boys this year? What bold prediction are you willing to make?

I'm most excited about finally seeing Jaylon Smith take the field. I bought into the hype last year. Perhaps it's because I just want more from our defense. Maybe it's because he seems like a genuinely nice kid who wants this so very much. No question at all I am aching to see a true game-changing addition to our defense. I have no idea if his nerve will be responsive enough to be competitive. I don't know if he's learned enough to be effective. But I've completely bought into the hype and I'm excited to see him play. I am excited about the thought of him making our defense legitimately formidable.

My biggest concern is Dak. Not because I don't believe in him, but because I just still can't believe he did what he did last year. I REALLY hope we don't get to the end of the year and all of the flaws I'm blind to become obvious. A genuine franchise QB is the key ingredient to getting back to the Superbowl. My biggest concern is that I can't believe my own eyes. Can he come back with the same poise and precision? I'm most concerned because his play drives the future of this team more than any other player's, IMO. I believe in him way more than I expected...but my expectations for him...ugh...he simply can't fail if we are going to be successful.

My bold prediction? I think we sweep the NFC East this year on the way to a 12-4 record. I think we will see the most improvement on the defense of this team. Further, I think our defensive improvements are going to separate us from the other teams in our division.

Sadly, I can only "like" this the one time and not the 5 consecutive times that it deserves.

What are you most excited about for the upcoming season? What is your biggest concern for our Boys this year? What bold prediction are you willing to make?

Excited - Zeke the freak. Love the guy. Want to play twister with him. Some of that excitement is tempered though by the Cowboys' decision to go with a lesser offensive line than what they could have had. We basically have a Craigslist ad out for the LG spot.

Concern - The Cowboys take a step back this year as every other division winner has for a decade or more. Whether it be due to poor play, injuries, bad luck, another team in the division going on a run. This is why I want to forearm smash Garrett's face. He cost us that playoff game in a Cinderella season by his gender fluid-ness. I suppose it doesn't matter though as you're not going to win a title with a rookie QB. Especially this one.

Prediction - Prescott takes a step back as a bus driver and is under investigation by the league for several ethics violations. The hole on the offensive line is felt significantly enough that it will be addressed in the offseason. That, the QB and the lack of a vertical threat at TE will really limit the offense. Fans will complain about the lack of creativity in the use of our Lollipop Guild, Switzer eats into Beasley's production, Beasley does the same to his. The sum of the parts doesn't really amount to more than what they had with Beasley full time. The defense isn't good enough to pick up the slack and the Cowboys go into December fighting for their playoff lives rather than cruising to a playoff bye like last year.

Most Excited: The Dallas Cowboys are back to being true contenders. 2015 was just a blip.
Biggest Fear: It takes too long for the D to get up to speed & we have to wait until next year.
Bold Prediction: Jaylon starts out slow, but shows he is who we thought he might be by the end of the season. 2nd - Joey Ivie becomes a guy we all love.
