Most helpless moment as a Cowboys fan

I was just a mere young lad at the time, but the catch still haunts me to this day. Watching Montana march the Niner's down the field with relative ease and then what looked like a sure sack of Montana turning into "The Catch"

:(

This isn’t the biggest heartbreaker- because there’s way too many but the divisional game against the rams a few years back when they just ran it down our threats was like watching a slow death. You knew we couldn’t stop the run and you know they would continuously go right at us.

The game actually was close in the end but I never ever felt confident at all. Was like watching a slow leak you know was gonna develop into a huge issue. As for heartbreaks there’s way too many but helpless there’s a few that stand out like this one I mentioned also the dez catch in Green Bay- nothing you could do but sit back and take that bs.

I feel pretty helpless every time they play.

Can't wait for more interactive TVs. Then I know I'll be able to contribute.

That 1998 Thanksgiving game against Randy Moss and the Vikings...still haunts me to this day. The most disgusted I ever felt as a Cowboys fan. Watching the most dominant performance against the Cowboys I had ever seen. Knowing there was nothing they could have done to stop him on that day. Knowing that he could have and should have been a Cowboy.

Other moments contend, like the 44-0 shutdown against the 85 Bears. But the Moss game is the one that still hurts the most.
The Catch

He could have and should have been a player on 20 other teams.

The very reason he fell was why the Cowboys had to pass and if you want to blame someone, blame Irvin.

I could understand if we had a 27 year old Irvin at the time and had to pass on Moss, but he was 32 and even before the injury, the time to move on was sooner rather than later considering the state of the team. That was Jerry at the height of his stupidity so even if he did draft Moss, the rest of the team was never good enough.

This was at a time that Booger cared about what people thought and had sponsor responsibilities. Irvin had embarrassed himself and the club and Moss was out of the question for this team. Irvin wasn't accused of hitting a woman, Moss was. Irvin didn't come with baggage when drafted in the 1st round, Moss was carrying a steamer trunk and 20 other teams avoided him.

The very reason Moss was dropping was why Booger had to avoid drafting him.

And I will argue that Moss didn't fit Aikman's strong suit, he was not a great deep ball thrower, too much wobble at the end like a shot duck.

Since 1996, there has not been ONE season I've entered into where I honestly thought, "This is our year"....and really meant it.
2007

Glenn's knew blowing out, Jerry not replacing him, and TO getting the high ankle sprain ended that.

And *still*, they were Crayton pulling up on the winning TD away from beating the Giants, who beat all the best teams in the league.

That was the start of the RKGs and you're screwed either way. Over the years Jerry has spent top dollar on babysitters, so what's another? lol Even if it wasn't feasible, it just added to the list of crap piling high at that time with Jimmy gone and Jerry fully in charge. The team was quickly becoming a mess in 98.

Clayton dropping the 3rd down pass that was at least a first down, flip the field and or a td. We punted and they scored.

You needed 15 years post Jimmy to figure that out, Floaty?
Always had a glimmer of hope that the light would turn on....but that night was the final nail in the coffin. Still waiting for my call as GM...to save America's team.

I have to throw in 1998 thanksgiving...Randy Moss is one of my favorite players ever...but i was just sitting in my own BM just amazed at how BAD he made our secondary look

and then two years later on thanksgiving again sitting in my own waste MOSS did it again!!!
