Ahhhhh..lots of football left, gents. Lets enjoy the ride. ...

I get that. I do think this team is run considerably better than the previous post-Jimmy Johnson FO’s. I would have more faith in not going 27 years again now than I would’ve had this scenario played out in 2003.Yep, getting there would definitely be an accomplishment for this team after waiting so long.
But man,
with the whole NFL landscape changing so much from one year to the next it would still be a huge disappointment to get there and lose.
Because the talking heads would probably all say the only reason Dallas made it was because of how weak the conference was.
And they would be right.
But then its so hard to get back I'd be scared of another 27 year wait or longer.
Much more limiting than never I guessA lot of things happen this time of year but once you get to December and January the contenders start to separate from the pretenders. We’ll see how things are shaping up then.
It’s all going to come down to if Dak can get back on track and get some sort of rhythm going with this receiving group. I’m not sure the offense will ever get going this season like it needs to get going for us to have a real shot in the playoffs if we make them. You can’t move on from your best WR and not take a hit. I could see this coming prior to the season.
Explain it to me oh enlightened one.I want to hear you explain what you think PFF said because I can tell you don't understand the post and are therefore a person with very low intelligence.
I think Dallas can beat Philly to get there.
I am less sure of being able to beat KC or Buffalo once getting there.
The Cowboys would never be able to compete with either KC or Buffalo with their lackluster passing game and inability to score TDs. Despite how good our defense has played both those teams would put up 25+ with the caliber of QBs and weapons they have.
That was for that EXACT specific matchup
I suspect the overall odds are a bit better to make it to the game than 5%. That would mean winning the awful NFC this year.
I'm guessing that is maybe 10-15%
I think the NFC odds/order
Philly

San Fran

Dallas

I get what you're trying to say, but neither KC nor Buffalo put up 25 on each other (Bills won, 24-20). Are their defenses better than Dallas? That's debatable.
It doesn’t matter how many points Buffalo and KC put on each other. Buffalo has the number one offense and defense in the entire NFL. KC’s defense is ranked way down the list but their offense is ranked number two. Both teams have two of the best QBs in the league. If we couldn’t keep Philly under 26 points good luck keeping the Chiefs and Bills to a manageable score. KC and Buffalo have the two best offenses in the entire league and I don’t see the Cowboys being able to contain either offense. I said when we played Philly that we were going to have to score 20+ to have a chance to beat them. It would be the same thing against KC and Buffalo. We wouldn’t be able to keep either one under 20 points so we would have to put up 3-4 TDs to have a chance. The Cowboys haven’t scored more than two TDs in a game all season. They currently have the 28th ranked offense. See if you can find a team that won a Super Bowl with an offense ranked that low. You have to be able to score more than we have to beat potent teams like the Chiefs and Bills.
Lots of words, telling me things I already knew, without actually answering my question.
PFF odds... means absolutely nothing. looking for clicks and the OP was suckered.
Based on the rankings Buffalo’s defense is better than the Cowboys but the Chiefs isn’t. It really doesn’t matter whose defense is better, because both their offenses are head and shoulders better than the Cowboys. You won’t find a team that’s ever won a Super Bowl with the 28th ranked offense or worse. The Ravens won the 2000 Super Bowl with the 18th ranked offense, but they had a transcendent defense.
I don't disagree about the offense - it has to get better for this to even be a conversation. But I'd put the Cowboys defense up against anything KC or Buffalo can offer.
Unfortunately, KC and Buffalo have better QBs. I'll get called a hater or troll by some here for saying that. And no, for anyone thinking it, Cooper Rush isn't the answer.
I think you’re going a little overboard on the Cowboys defense. Their pass rush may be second to none right now but they rank 19th against the run and that’s a problem. Buffalo and KC rank in the top three against the run so beat them you have to throw the ball and the Cowboys rank 26th in passing.
I think you're going overboard trying to educate me with basic stuff - ease up on the kindergarten football. I'm not a child.
I knew Dallas was in trouble vs San Fran because of rushing yards per attempt, despite some saying our mid-level "rushing defense" was good enough. The Cowboys were 23rd in YPA, and we saw what San Fran did with it. While people were going on about "Super Bowl" I bet on the Niners because it looked like easy money. It was. It's still an issue, and I'm sure Chicago will attempt to exploit it. Hopefully, Hankins will make a difference.
You still haven't answered my initial question. But after multiple posts, you kind of have answered it.
I answered your question. You just seem to want to argue about a matchup that will likely never happened. I think both Buffalo and KC are better teams than the Cowboys. The only thing the Cowboys do better than either team is rush the passer. Buffalo has a better overall defense than the Cowboys. If you want to keep arguing go ahead.
