Most overplayed songs in the 90s

Some 90s songs were overplayed and I kinda like em now.

You can pick almost any Nirvana song but I really HATE Smells like Teen Spirit. Just a terrible song by a good band.

Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden was played over and over again in like 97. I Want You was also played a lot around that time.

MmmBop by Hanson is the most overplayed song ever outside of maybe Stairway. But Hanson's material since 2000s is pretty good. 2012 album is flat out excellent. And Mmmbop isn't that bad a song. But it was a real earworm and way overplayed in 1996-97. I can understand hating the song.

Alanis Morsette's Jagged Little Pill had about 4 or 5 songs that was played on pretty much every station. I would hear em on Alt Rock, rock, pop stations. But none of em are that bad.

Stairway to Heaven was overplayed mostly because it was the most requested song in history.......and every Alanis song is garbage. lol

Anyone remember Ace of Base being played a lot in Texas in the 90s? You guys also remember a song called Possession by Sarah McLachlan? That came out sometime in the 90s but anyone know when it was?

Yeah that Ace of bass song Signs or whatever was played a ton, and it sucked.

Shania Twain got played a lot, I didn't mind her videos though.ha

Massively Overplayed to the point where I couldn't stand it for like 10 years:

Ace of Base had like 4 or 5 overplayed songs. Don't Turn Around was pretty big right after The Sign. Cruel Summer cover was also played a lot.

I disagree. Not overplayed.

My generation's beatles. They changed everything. Its still utterly sad that kurt cobain is not here. So much was lost. As he got older I can only imagine the amazing stuff he would have done. I really hate drugs.

If they were your generation's Beatles, then your generation is sad, musically speaking. They didn't"change everything" in my opinion...At best, they put grunge on the map. Extremely overrated band.

I like Nirvana. But I despise Smells Like Teen Spirit. One of the worst hit songs of any major artist ever. Nirvana wasn't any generations Beatles.

Here with go with the {insert band name} is my generations Beatles, my wife and I got into a huge argument when she told me U2 was her generations Led Zeppelin:lmao:. Nirvana/U2 Don't compare to Zep or the Beatles in any way, shape or form. Never understood the appeal of what I call "wuss rock" where said artist/s stand on the stage in one place look at the ground and basically complain about how bad their lives are. I am glad Nirvana/Cobain are gone they were horrible{in my not so humble opinion} and remember without Nirvana there would be no Courtney Love or Dave{ photo op} Grohl and that's a good thing. Tune into the 10 clock edition when I rant on how horrible Nickleback/Foo Fighters are.

Overplayed in the '70's, '80's, '90's, '00's, '10's & will be >2016.

I guess you could say that I'm 'over' this song. ;)

They did somewhat pave the way for Alice in Chains, for which I'm grateful. Other than that, meh.
