Most overplayed songs in the 90s

Overplayed in the '70's, '80's, '90's, '00's, '10's & will be >2016.

I guess you could say that I'm 'over' this song. ;)

Now if there was an award for the ugliest band, Skynyrd would definitely be in the competition.

They did somewhat pave the way for Alice in Chains, for which I'm grateful. Other than that, meh.
AIC and Soundgarden were already formed bands when Nirvana started up. I'm betting both were going to be fairly big regardless. Nirvana was more right place, right time and were just pop enough to be more popular than AIC or Soundgarden initially were. I bet AIC is probably more well liked now than Nirvana was.

They certainly are by me. Had they been more prolific when Layne Staley was alive, or if he was still alive, I'm sure they would've supplanted Aerosmith as my favorite band........( Presober Aerosmith, that is.....They lost their edge once they sobered up, IMO)

AIC's last 2 albums led mostly by Cantrell are pretty good also. Not as good as Dirt or Jar of Flies of course.

If they were your generation's Beatles, then your generation is sad, musically speaking. They didn't"change everything" in my opinion...At best, they put grunge on the map. Extremely overrated band.

whatever you say.

Here with go with the {insert band name} is my generations Beatles, my wife and I got into a huge argument when she told me U2 was her generations Led Zeppelin:lmao:. Nirvana/U2 Don't compare to Zep or the Beatles in any way, shape or form. Never understood the appeal of what I call "wuss rock" where said artist/s stand on the stage in one place look at the ground and basically complain about how bad their lives are. I am glad Nirvana/Cobain are gone they were horrible{in my not so humble opinion} and remember without Nirvana there would be no Courtney Love or Dave{ photo op} Grohl and that's a good thing. Tune into the 10 clock edition when I rant on how horrible Nickleback/Foo Fighters are.

lol. Wuss Rock. Standing in one place in regards to Nirvana.

Buy a lot of music. Listen. Try to understand. Understand the times. Get back to me when you have more info and understanding.

what? Alice in chains was essentially a hair metal band and headed down that path.

Nirvana was an alternative band with thrash and pop influences.

How can you call something overrated you do not even understand?

People just jumped on the bandwagon. If Cobain hadn't died Nirvana would've fizzled out.

AiC and Nirvana pretty much came out the same year, sadly AiC got lumped in with grunge rock when they were more of a hard rock band. Great band, much better then Nirvana and Pearl Jam.

I have plenty of understanding as well as knowledge.
I also understand boring, mundane been done before cookie cutter rock isn't for everyone.

AiC was a hair metal band:facepalm:

Haha agreed,
Ive met some younger people who all they think Aerosmith ever did was Amazing, Crying and I don't wanna miss a thing. I play them Get your Wings, Rocks or Draw the Line and watch their jaws drop. They{in the 70s} used to be amazing.

I remember hearing the kids at the Permanent Vacation concert talking about how much they liked this cool new band. Lol

Agreed. AIC and Soundgarden probably shouldn't really be grunge bands. They were all from Seattle and came out about the same time. All of em worked together also. Jason Everman was a member of both Soundgarden and Nirvana. But really both were metal bands.

I saw them last year here in Austin just a few weeks before Peart retired...
Saw them on opening night in Tulsa Oklahoma, and the Professor will never retire! Inconceivable!

Now back to bashing worthless 90s wuss rock....

I could've swore I read somewhere That Alex was having arthritis issues with his hands and is very hard for him to play anymore..........I'm pretty sure. I think.............?

My only disappointment with the concert was that they didn't play "Freewill", but I do realize Geddy doesn't have the pipes for that one anymore.
Did they play La Villa Strangiato? My fav...........

I've always hated Rush. Lee's voice is absolutely grating to me. I realize Pert is an incredible drummer and instrumentally they're very talented, but Lee ruins it.
I've always had a hard time with the vocals as well. But.....in the seventies rock was all about schreechin' high pitched voices.

I listen for the music. Rush is very good at that part.

How many other bands pull off different time signatures and people miss it? Folks still rollin as if it's 4/4...........MOST don't realize they're only a three piece.
