For me it's Abbey Road. There's various reasons I feel this way....one of which is that it just has such a great variety of songs, from sing-a-longs like "Come Together" and "Maxwell's Silver Hammer", to love songs like "Something", to iconic songs like "Here Comes the Sun", this one just has it all and in massive quantities. And when you consider when it was released...Sept. of 1969, it inspired a whole new movement in music.

1.2 Side one
1.3 Side two
What's your choice??

John Lennon agrees with you. Lennon said the song was "more of Paul's granny music", and refused to participate in the recording of the song.
I like it though...it's a fun sing-a-long when you're drinking/drunk.

Ill have to put in my vote for Abbey Road. Its perfection and it flows from beginning to end.
Not a weak track on it.
My consolation vote goes to Zeps Physical Grafitti.....from the rover,in my time of dying to kashmir and in the light.
Also page pulls out a very unique chordal structure after the verses in the wanton song.
Also Van Halens first album was pretty good

I basically agree with all of the above - Abbey Road would be completely perfect except for "Maxwell's".

Moving about as far away stylistically as possible, I'll nominate the Minutemen's "Double Nickels on the Dime". Forty-five tracks (give or take) and I'm not sure there's a dud on it.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned another one of my favorite complete albums....Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

Nobody makes one song flow into another quite like Pink Floyd. Albums are one giant song, really, one giant story. And they're the best at using directional audio in the mixing process. Listening to Floyd in a car is a wild experience. And much like Queen's "We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions" you just can't hear "Brain Damage" without hearing "Eclipse" immediately after it, can you?

Side one
1."Speak to Me"
2."Breathe"
3."On the Run"
4."Time" (containing "Breathe (Reprise)")
5."The Great Gig in the Sky"
Side two
1."Money"
2."Us and Them"
3."Any Colour You Like"
4."Brain Damage"
5."Eclipse"

Eminem Show

Great choice, though I'm a touch more fond of The Marshall Mathers EP. Blew me away the first time I heard it all the way through.

I think the Eminem Show is when he got out everything he needed to get out.

As good as he still is in 2011, theres not a ton left to say. With the Eminem Show it was the perfect storm of beats, flow, and relevant topics.

I think he got out everything he had to say on 1 perfect song from the MM LP..... "I Am"
What an incredible song.

True, but I think Eminem Show had more depth....to give it a football term.

Halies Song, Til I collapse, Soldier, Cleanin Out my Closet, White America, Business, Sing for the Moment, Say Goodby to Hollywood(underrated even among Eminem fans)

As great as the silly watch me show off my skills stuff can be I feel there was a bit more to that in MMLP

I think I'll listen to both of them and then get back to you. :) They're both great....I think I'm partial to MMLP because it's the first one I listened to all the way through from him.

Metallica - Black Album

Nice choice. I work with this younger guy (early/mid-20's) who loves music but he mostly has singles and not full albums. He likes rock, metal, and alternative. He said he wanted to start listening to complete albums. Great albums are a rarity today. So he gave me some blank CDs and Metallica's Black Album was one of the first I made for him. I told him that it was one of a handful of "perfect" albums. I suppose nothing is perfect, but that album is as solid as they come.

U2 has a couple of amazing albums with Achtung Baby and Joshua Tree. I love Pearl Jam's Ten, Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger, NIN's Downward Spiral and Pretty Hate Machine. I could listen to all of those album's from beginning to end without ever wanting to skip a track.

There are a few Zep albums that come to mind. Led Zeppelin II and IV are incredible. Arguably the greatest band ever. I appreciate what the Beatles did, but I don't like most of their music. I'll take Zeppelin and the Stones any day.
