Most Respected/Hated Division Rivals - Players

Cowboys:

Respected: Drew Bledsoe. He's just such a great leader and face of the team. He knows how to be the focal point of the most well known sports franchise in the world and to not only do it justice, but to make Cowboy fans proud. One tough cookie too. Runner up: Terry Glenn. Goes about his business quietly and plays full tilt all the time. Overcame a serious bump in his career to play very well the last couple of years.

Disliked: Hard to dislike any Cowboys... but I guess the answer would be TO. He's arrogant as all get out and he has been a shmuck in the past. Will he change? I hope so.

Giants:

Respected: Strahan. I do like Tiki too (who doesn't), but Strahan has been a professional ever since he walked into the NFL. A very good player who doesn't take himself too seriously.

Disliked: Shockey, I guess. He's just so dang annoying.

Washington:

Respected: Salave'a. He does the dirty work in the middle and gets next to no respect. He's darn good against the run and plays very well within William' system.

Disliked: Joe Gibbs. Hypocrit. Not shaking Parcells hand after losing to him says volumes about what a poor loser he is. Talks like class and dignity after a loss is very important and then shows himself to be such a poor sport. No wonder Parcells didn't shake his hand last year... but Parcells doesn't pretend to go to church 8 days a week. But the reason Gibbs made this list is because of his incessant whining after every Commanders loss. It's always someone elses fault that he lost the game. The officials have it out for him or some crazy notion like that.

Philadelphia:

Respected: Jim Johnson. Great, great defensive coordinator who is mostly responsible for the Eagles playoff run of the early 2000's. Innovative and aggressive. I'd love to have him as the Cowboys DC.

Disliked: Donovan McNabb. Chunky McBarf always is playing the race card... and that is enough to get him on this list even without his cocky nature and propensity for choking during big games.

I'm not sure what you're talking about...Gibbs has always shook Parcells' hand after games.

Eli at least put up 24 TD passes to 17 ints as a 2nd year player and his 1st full season as a starting QB. I agree he gets a lot of hype but any QB who in his 1st full season is putting up 24 TD to 17 ints I would consider that a pretty big achivement and his play should only improve with experiance.

Vick's 2nd season (1st as the starter) was his best by far. He was phenomenal. That was the year with the 60-something yard run at Minnesota. He had a 16-12 TD-INT ratio that year I think. He seems to have regressed slightly since then.

Eli has improved, but needs to get more accurate. He had far too many "Who the hell was he throwing THAT one at" passes last year. It helps his shortest main downfield targer is 6-3 Toomer. If he makes the leap this year, watch out for the Giants (only in the regular season though. he's still a Manning).

I don't like any of the players who play for our division rivals.
I might respect some of them but I definitely don't like them.
My list...
Respect-Brian Dawkins
Hate-Donavan Mcnabb(Always thought he was a better athlete than qb and when those chunky soup ads start churning out again I will be nauseous)

Respect-Chris Cooley
Hate-Joe Gibbs(This guy is propped up by Greg Williams and now Al Saunders)

Respect-Tiki Barber
Hate-Michael Strahan(This dude has an opinion on everything, he is the Curt Shilling version in football...Shut up already!...Plus Favre gave you a record that really isn't legit...Just ask Deacon Jones)

Guys I also hate...
Favre-Just retire and stop getting involved in a teammates contract dispute.
Ray Lewis-Dude was guilty and you don't scare anyone anymore!
Mike Shannahan-Nicknamed "The Rat". This genious hasn't done so well without Elway...overrated.

COWBOYS
like: witten
dislike: TO (trash in its purest form), but go ahead and put all of the cowboys in there, just cause you're cowboys lol

GIANTS
like: tiki
dislike: lavar (mr. ex-Commander crybaby)

EAGLES
like: mcnabb
dislike: trotter

Commanders
like: all of them (d green, the best of them all)
dislike: george marshall preston (he was a racist, point blank)

Commanders: Moss, he's burned us twice, so no doubt I respect him

hate; Brunell, he's so hard to tackle

Eagles: uh, uh, it used to be TO, now it's uh, uh, sorry, I don't really fear anyone, thus I dont' respect anyone on their roster

Giants: Osi, w/ Strahan occupying double-teams, Osi is left alone quite often, and he's a beast

hate; Shockey, he's such an arsehole

However, I have hated Parcells since he was a NYG, and many of you probably felt the same way until he became a Cowboy.

Juke still loathes Parcells for that ;)

Eagles

Respect - Jim Johnson. Great DC, wish he was our DC.
Hate - Lard Azz Trotter.

Skins

Respect - Al Saunders. Creative OC.
Hate - Joe Gibbs. He's ugly.

Giants

Respect - Strahan. Great DE.
Hate - Strahan. Stop smiling already and visit the dentist.

Cowboys

Respect - Brady James. Keep on keeping on.
Hate - Don't hate anyone, but dislike TO immensely.

Cowboys

Respect: Witten like posted above any man who can play with a broken jaw and then complain when the coach took him out for it has got my respect.

Hate: Cant say I hate anyone on the team but the one I most dislike is TO, no shocker but he is TO.

Giants

Respect: Tiki hands down on that team, underrated b/c of strong runners in NFC, cam into the league constantly hurt and everyone had given up on him when he proved them wrong.

Hate: Can it be anyone other then Eli Manning? For one WTH does he think is tell the NFL what team he will and wont play for and another thing he is just another whiny Manning.

Eagles

Respect: Hard one here since most eagles can rot for all I care, but I gotta give the award to Dawkins, hands down one of the premier Safeties in the game.

Hate: Pick any of the players other then Dawkins, but most hated all time is a toss up between the fans and Buddy Ryan. (what a deuche)

Commanders

Respect: Clinton Portis, the guy just comes in and plays hard on every down. Hes not shy about putting his body out there to get blasted if it means picking up the first down. That might hurt him in his later years but for now he tries to get his team to win.

Hated: Once again pick one, but most hated is a boy by the name of Sean Taylor. GROW UP, this is not little league where you spit on people when they block you and this is not the driveby lane where you can just wield a gun when you feel like it. This is the NFL get it together or go down as one of the most wasted bodies of talent.

I'm not sure what you're talking about...Gibbs has always shook Parcells' hand after games.

In Gibbs first season back, after Parcells beat him, Gibbs went to mid-field and stayed so far away from Parcells that he could barely reach him. He never even looked at Bill and clearly didn't want to give any props to Parcells for winning the game.

He did shake his hand, but it was done in such a manner that not shaking it at all would've been an improvement over what he did. Poor sportsmanship.

Look, I know Gibbs is like the Holy Grail to Skins fans... but he just comes across as a hypocrit. He talks about how important it is to have high character players on the team and then keeps Taylor and supports him when he:

Skipped the rookie syposium.
Failed to return the head coach's phone calls.
Skipped voluntary workouts.
Spit on another player.
Got caught driving drunk with a teammate's girlfriend late at night.
Pulled a gun on some people who he thought had stolen his ATV.

Parcells wants high character players too. When they act up, he gets rid of them. Antonio Bryant was a d*ck and Parcells cut him loose. Parcells puts his money where his mouth is.

Gibbs talks about being a good loser and then complains about the refs after nearly every loss. Does he ever take the blame for a loss. Whine, whine, whine.

When the skins didn't have enough money to sign Smoot and Pierce, instead of being honest like most coaches, he said they weren't worth the money. Said he couldn't pay smoot more than Springs. You know as well as I do that on every NFL team there are players who's contracts come up and they make more than their teammates because salaries go up every year. Heck, there are players on the Commanders who make more than other players who aren't as good as them. They just paid out the butt for two WR's who have never contributed one thing to the Commanders while Cooley is still playing off of his little rookie contract and Cooley is the better player. Yes, Dallas has very good players playing on rookie contracts... but then Parcells has never tried to feed everyone a cock and bull story about not wanting to pay one player more than a teammate because he isn't as good. Salave'a is very underrated and under paid. I don't see Gibbs rushing to right that wrong.

Other coaches will say they just didn't have the money to sign the player. They don't have to make it look like they planned it that way and in the process take shots at the departing player by saying they weren't worth the money. Perception is so important to Gibbs and that in itself is sinful, IMO... worrying so much about how people view you is vain in the extreme.

Cowboys
Likes - Roy Williams. Comes at you full speed all the time.
Dislikes - Hmmmm tough one, not really anyone that stands out, but gonna go with TO. Great player, but comes with baggage. Didn't like Deion either, but glad he was a Cowboy.

Giants
Like - Tiki Barber. One of the most underrated players in the NFL. Classy guy.
Dislikes - Eli Manning. The guy is way overhyped. Let him do someting before he is annointed anything other than a Manning.

Eagles
Likes - Brian Dawkins. Another classy guy who brings it every play. Love guys like him and Willams that are great players and great people.
Dislikes - Andy Ried. Gets too much of the credit and showed he had little spine in the way he mishandled the whole TO situation.

Commanders
Likes - Hmmmm another tough one, no one really stands out. Gonna go with Shawn Springs cause he is from Ohio State and his dad played for the Cowboys.
Dislikes - Easy Sean Taylor. Total punk. They guy has no appreciation of his talents and abilities and what good he could do for his team and the league. A guy I would love to see steam rolled by some hulking offensive lineman.

Great points and well thought out.
When I put Gibbs as most hated I also remembered back to the Tampa(reg. season game) game and how Gibbs cried about the refs....I also seem to remember a little smart remark Gibbs made about the Cowboy fans last preseason...and like you said his actions at midfield after a loss were really juvenile for a man of his age.
Let's face the facts about Gibbs...the last two years the Skins defense is what has kept them in the games and made them competitive. And I give credit to Greg Williams for that. Hell Gibbs couldn't even manage the clock late in games and had trouble with the play clock for most of his first season.
Now they have Al Saunders as the off. coordinator. There offense should improve but the Giants and the Cowboys have improved also. TO's addition should even things out for our offense against Williams skin defense. You wanna blitz then go ahead...We got more bullets in our gun this year.
