Early reports are that he shoots through the line of scrimmage on all carries...

In non-contact practice drills. C'mon.

There's a reason we got him for nothing. He's useful, but Elliott will be 10 times better.

Yeah, that's the kind of stuff I hate reading about in TC.
Those welcome pops is a stupid way to injure Zeke. I know Zeke is not made of glass, but I think it is dumb to take shots at him just because he is a rookie. Why take the chance of injuring any player with such foolishness?

There's your bias...and Zeke Elliott should be a workhorse. But Morris has merit.

Nice report when a lot of the guys we have questions about got off to a good start. Granted it is one day, but imagine the angst if guys didn't come out on day 1 and set a good early tone.

RB - Seems like this is going to be one good competition behind Elliott, if McFadden and Dunbar can get healthy.

DE - Nice that both Tapper and Russell looked good on day one. Would have liked to hear some positive about Irving.

DT - Disappointing that Crawford has the back injury, hopefully it is just minor as they are saying. McClain continued strong work and sounds like Thornton was holding up very well against the likes of Frederick.,

LB - Would have liked to hear more from the backers today. As a group, probably heard the least about them.

CB - Claiborne came out on fire, hope he can maintain that. Seems like he came out really good a year or two ago and then got hurt and never really was the same. Praying he is over that. Nice to see a rookie get an int.

WR - Dez seems like his hands aren't fully there yet, but it sounds like Williams has put some distance between himself and Butler. A couple of the rookies made a little noise and even Street got some love.

Hopefully we will hear more good news today.

Nah, he doesn't have the speed or size to do that. That's why Washington let him go.

Not from where I am standing. He is a hell of a back. Durable, can handle the load, great between the tackles and has great vision. Did you ask Washington why they let him go? Just curious.

I love what I am hearing about Alfred Morris...and thanks for the post, darthseinfeld.
With the excitement about Elliott you have to ask yourself, "Do we really want to give him Demarco Murray's workload". The correlation between that volume of touchs and a playera decline is staggering.

In Morris we have a strong system fit and a player that has a 1,600 season under his belt. He also looked good last year until the whole Skins ground game grinded to a halt

He's a pet cat of mine.

And it would be a godsend for this team if he could develop right away and be a factor on passing downs.
There are some similarities to him and Danielle Hunter. Hard working, but raw athletic freaks who play like there hair is on fire. Hunter was much more productive as a rookie then people thought he would be

I have watched Morris for 4 years buddy, he has a history. I also have Commanders fans as very good friends. There were problems in Washington and he was splitting carries the last 3 years. That will bring anyones stats down. Now granted he doesnt catch the ball well. But running the ball, the cat can do it. And he would look great behind this Oline.

What are the chances a team would have 2 guys named Dax?

Darius Jackson – The rookie running back generated some buzz when he was drafted in the sixth round in May, and he showed why in his debut practice. Running with the third team offense, Jackson showed some impressive speed and elusiveness, stopping and starting on a dime and reversing field several times to pick up extra yardage.

.

I will not be surprised if Dallas crushed it with this pick and he brings some trade value in the future.

6'0, 220, explosive, and intelligent.

We all know Elliott is the starter. I can definitely see us going with Morris and Jackson....I think Dunbar and McFadden are insurance policies at this point.

I would say Dunbar is the man out.

"Charles Tapper – The rookie defensive end had a strong first day with the pads on, not only showing that speed, but some power, too. Tapper had three nice bull-rushes in the 1-on-1 drills but more than held his own against starters Doug Free and Tyron Smith, beating the veterans off the edge a couple of times."

:clap:Great news from the pass rush department.
