Or will he be just a highly regarded nominee like Duane Thomas, Hershel Walker or DeMarco Murray?

Seriously though, right now I'd include Robert Newhouse before I'd put up Don Perkins. Or Preston Pearson.

Newhouse finished in the top 10 in rushing 1 time and in the top 5 in rushing 0 times.
Perkins finished in the top 10 in rushing 8 times and in the top 5 in rushing 2 times.

Newhouse was never a pro-bowler or all-pro.
Perkins was a 6 time pro-bowler and a 1 time all-pro.

Perkins retired as the #5 rusher all-time.
Perkins is in the Ring of Honor.

Newhouse is one of my favorite Cowboys. Perkins was the better running back.

That's what I was thinking. Probably not old enough to have enjoyed the Cowboys 1st great RB Ring of Honor inductee.

Calvin Hill was offensive rookie of the year and All Pro his 1st season as a 1st Rd pick out of Yale in 1969 starting after Perkins retired.

Dorsett didn't start until his 10th game of the season and still gained over a 1,000 yards.

Zeke could break them all this year and I'm not sure yet he's our most talented RB in history. Hard for me to think he's more talented than TD, Emmitt and Herschel. We'll see. I'm excited .
