A gold star to anyone who can name this dude.

Moose? There are no numbers on the shoulders so it doesn't look like a game day jersey, but maybe training camp one.

He was fun to watch, but you knew he wasn't long for this league with his style of play.[/QUOTE]

If he would have had a little more speed and a knack to not seek out tacklers instead of dodging them in the open field.

I personally think he got off trucking folks.

He was indeed fun to watch.

Perkins gained almost 1500 more yards in his career than Newhouse did.

Newhouse finished in the top 10 in rushing 1 time and in the top 5 in rushing 0 times.
Perkins finished in the top 10 in rushing 8 times and in the top 5 in rushing 2 times.

Newhouse was never a pro-bowler or all-pro.
Perkins was a 6 time pro-bowler and a 1 time all-pro.

Perkins retired as the #5 rusher all-time.
Perkins is in the Ring of Honor.

Newhouse is one of my favorite Cowboys. Perkins was the better running back.
Newhouse was a fullback who could do more things and played in bigger games.

He played in bigger games because he played for better teams. Perkins was part of the expansion Cowboys. Perkins was even a slightly better receiver out of the backfield. Again, I'm a fan of Newhouse, but Perkins was better.

With 44" thighs and had to have custom tailored trousers made,a true beast.

And somebody mentioned Dwayne Thomas, man ,,,he finished his career scoring touchdowns for the Commanders(I felt betrayed back then)

This man keeps track of our players' thigh measurements.

Now that's pretty darn fan-ish. Can't top that.

It used to get talked about all the time then by the announcers. Every first carry he had in the game the broadcasting team would mention it.

Perkins was better. He was a fullback who did everything exceptionally well. He was faster than Bob Hayes.... for ten yards. In many ways it's the same old argument about whether the older generation players could match the newer players. Not a big generational difference between Perkins and Newhouse, but the game had changed by the time Newhouse played.

Very interesting argument. The bigger games is one I'd like to expand on since I think it's fairly obvious Perkins statistically was better but I'm not going to get into fans personal favorites.

Perkins played in the 2 biggest games the Cowboys had in his era , the 66 and 67 NFL Title games which I'll present as the 2 biggest games in Cowboy history which I'm betting some fan in particular wasn't old enough to recall watching.

If we win those games we win the first two Super Bowls, Merideth doesn't retire early and we possibly go onto to win a couple more .

And the SB trophy is named after Landry instead of Lombardi .

Those two games changed the course of Cowboys history taking what is considered the greatest team in NFL history to the brink back to back .

Speaking of playing in big games as a measurement or impact the lack of playing in big games would probably eliminate Romo in any discussions or comparisons of such.
