Because of his physical attributes. Excellent size/speed combo that is tough to find. Going back to college the knock on Clark was more about his ability to see the game....Recognizing routes, biting on fakes, slow to pick up on misdirections plays....a lot of which we saw from most defenders this past Sunday. If you can coach him up enough to process information quickly I think sky is the limit for this guy, but that is much easier said than done.
Lack of lateral agility and instincts lowers that ceiling, IMO.

It’s Clear, the blue print is out on how to beat this defense. I wouldn’t be opposed to him, playing middle linebacker and situational pass rusher. You can bet your booty Bella check will be ready to attack us at our weakness. Change it up a little bit and keep them guessing
Clear blueprint to lose when a team is
2-1. Wow. See above post about keeping thoughts quiet.

i think this is a great idea against teams like the eagles 49ers etc. you have a guy that can go sideline to sideline…..why not utilize that. Then you have him rush the passer on 3rd downs.

You have the ultimate weapon…. Use him all over. Putting him on just one side against teams that are obviously gameplaning against that is crazy.

I’m all for using him at lb more against certain teams.

Especially if teams are going to continue to run right at him. Especially if we have LBS right now who seem to not be able to get to the ball quick enough. I think it's time to get more creative with Micah instead of just always rushing him from one side, and letting him take a pounding! Please give your thoughts
He doesn't rush from just one side. Often lines up over the center too.

He needs to maintain gap assignment and set the edge more on running plays, but his best spot is causing havoc on the end.

A defensive collapse

Shelve all the talk about how great this defense is, because with the known issues on the offensive line, they really needed to step up. Instead they repeatedly fell flat on their face, giving up runs of 45, 44, 26, 23, and 20, plus a 69-yard bomb where the secondary completely lost the receiver. The last may have been partly attributable to the loss of Trevon Diggs for the season in the preceding week, but those gashing runs were just a total failure by a team that was supposed to have this problem from the last few seasons fixed. They don’t, and it was what really killed the team. Arizona averaged 7.4 yards per rushing attempt, and that is almost impossible to win against.

There was a moment at the end of the first quarter when Micah Parsons was visibly confused about what the defense was trying to do, and that seems to have been the case throughout the game. This was absolutely shocking. Dan Quinn has just as big a problem to fix as McCarthy, and his genius status took a huge hit in this game.

The communication on D was terrible. Both the front 7 and secondary.

Not sure what caused that problem haven't heard anyone in Media ask about it.

I think moving him to MLB would be a waste of his natural talents.

Instead....I think we should move him to full time punter.

Give responding safeties/linebackers false passing reads, attack strongly Parsons, and straight up field with strong head on blocking...straight up field cutting off flow.

Hard pass on that one. Rushing the passer is too important. I like when he rushes up the middle some though.
Move him around, what are the splits for Eagles/49ers run/pass on 1st down. I admit to having very little strategic knowledge but even I can see that teams are using Micah's early down pass rush against him.

1st /2nd down, MLB, (where his speed will help against the run to both edges), then unleash him to pass-rush on 3rd down from edge or LB.

Squeeze from the outside in, with tight coverage...to kill rushing.

When they get to San Francisco, Buffalo, and Philadelphia ... bring a spy in on the quarterbacks!

I think they just need to have him line up late. Start him in the middle on the every play and shift/move him before the snap.

Also he should not be in pash rush mode 100% of the time on every play.

Parsons would not be a good MLB, in my opinion. He is better suited as an outside LB. If we ran a 3-4, Parsons would have a perfect position that keeps him on the field because as an OLB he could be used in many ways. In our 4-3, he’s probably playing the only position that really fits his skills, but I would occasionally like to see him as a third LB (instead of a safety), along with another DE. Let him run to the ball in helping against the run, and let him spy and pick his spots to “flame on” vs the pass. When he’s not playing DE of course.

I really wonder if the messsfg boards for other teams have these sorts of posts. Happens daily on here
What I notice on other message boards. Is how much more active this board is. They get like 3 post a day compared to our 400

In the past, I have been in complete agreement with your assessment. However, it seems opposing offenses have begun to scheme to negate Parsons pass rush. Specifically by running the ball both at and away from him. It seems LVE and company have not been doing that great at stopping the run. It might be best to use Micah at LB until we get a lead and then put him back at defensive end. He can still be used to blitz up the middle occasionally. Unfortunately, this may be the best way until the linebacker corp steps things up or better players are found.

Luckily the Cowboys defense doesn’t have to account for Mac Jones scrambling upfield much as he’s more a pocket passer. That means a guy like Mazi Smith can go out there and anchor the line and close the a-gaps to force Zeke and Rhemondre Stevenson to rush to the outside, where DeMarcus Lawrence lays in waiting.

That starts with Mazi Smith and Damone Clark. I’d put Clark as the one who needs a stand-out performance because if the Cowboys can have two great linebackers who stop the run, it makes things easier for all parts of the defense.
