Stephen Jones specifically made it clear that both "T. Smiths'' could line up on the left side alongside one another.

"Tyler Smith,'' Stephen said, "will compete on that left side: left guard, left tackle."

Why is this still a topic of interest?!

Some of you guys are crazy. Tyron was a victim of bad luck last year or he plays 17 games. Connor Williams stepped on his ankle. The fact is that Tyron was pro bowl level last year and there is no reason to expect a drop off. The rookie from Tulsa is over his head and its doubtful he'll even upgrade Connor next year.

LOL.

I was waiting for the annual Dak Attack post on how awesome Alarcon is.

Where he can’t even spell his name right.

Spam.

Opposite. Shows that he doesn't. Athletically limited.

I love the guy as a prospect, though, and I think he might be dominant.

From what I have seen, read and heard about this kid, I would tend to disagree with you. All indications are he is a pure, but very raw, LT that needs time to learn how to play the position correctly. His size, strength and mauler nature fits best at OG, for now. But proper coaching should allow him to transition to LT, unless he's the next Zack Martin at OG, than he may not ever move.

Tyron is not going to last more than 4 games. Cowboys would be wise to put Tyler Smith at LT and start Issac Alarcon at LG. This would give you strength and size for a dominant run game, and athleticism to excel in pass protection.

OMG, I can't! I really can't........I really thought you would let it go. I really really did.

Why do people think Alarcon is anything more than a practice player? He's only on the team because of a roster exception.

Dak's blind side with two unproven replacements. What could possibly go wrong with that?

Alarcon will never likely play a down as an OL in the NFL. Why do people keep wanting to start him. He will forever be known as the guy who "wants some cake"

Highly doubtful. Doesn't have the movement skills to play OLT. I know fans have this hope, but it doesn't appear to have merit.

Maybe Waletzgo in a couple years.
We won't know either way, let's see him develop and improve (at LG) under NFL conditions and play it be ear.
I'd think the FO hope the ceiling is the heir apparent to Tyron or floor LG.
There doesn't appear many options at LT in the 2023 draft (atm), so we're throwing darts.

Wrong Connor, bud. McGovern was the guilty party on that one. Williams was guilty of a lot, so I can see laying Tyron's injury on him too.

The biggest reason I'm on board with the Tyler Smith pick is because he can play any position on the line..

That's why Pats took Strange.

It matters, because you can take less olinmen, and bring another position.

Position flex is a big deal.

Reminder that this loser troll already switched teams ...... The board should hold him to this

Don't let the door hit him OTW out.

I don't have confidence that Tyler can be effective at LT right away.
Maybe down the road.

To be honest, I think you might very well be right. He's likely going to require lots of coaching to improve his pass blocking technique. Even then, there's no guarantee that he'll enjoy the kind of success that's needed to thrive there. He might be better suited to stay at LG if the red flags fly too often.
