Agreed. Bringing back Ricardo Maltoban (sp?) to reprise his original television episode role was brilliant casting.Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was better than Star Trek: The Motion Picture

If I am ranking the Thor movies, I go Thor, Ragnorok, Dark WorldMy way of looking at sequels is likely atypical. Take Movie A, Movie B and Movie C, released in that order. I would agree that Movies B and C are sequels but only as sequels of the single film released prior to the last one that came out. For example, The Empire Strikes Back is a sequel to Star Wars but I consider Return Of The Jedi as a sequel to Empire, not the original movie.
I agree and disagree with some listed for various reasons but there is one in particular I am in total disagreement. Thor: Ragnarok was not better than either film preceding it in my opinion. It would not surprise me if my opinion is in the minority though. I held the highest of expectations for Ragnarok of the trilogy and it disappointed me. Big time. Still loved Cate Blanchett as Hela. She killed it.

It is likely I would agree if not for what seems to me as misplaced forced Guardians of the Galaxy type humor. If I am ranking the Thor movies, I go Thor, Ragnorok, Dark World
^ This is generally my position as well. For me, Alien is primarily horror while Aliens is primarily Action/Adventure. Both are great movies.I can't say Aliens is better than Alien because it's a different kind of movie
And since Action/Adventure movies are inherently better than Horror movies.....^ This is generally my position as well. For me, Alien is primarily horror while Aliens is primarily Action/Adventure. Both are great movies.
oh i'm not touching THAT one with a ten-foot pole. And since Action/Adventure movies are inherently better than Horror movies.....
For what ii is worth, The Thing 2011 is a prequel to John Carpenter's 1982 film.
100% correct. Maybe we should also do a 'which is better/original or remake' thread.Which was actually a remake of "The Thing From Another World" (1951 RKO Pictures) by Christian Nyby, based on the 1938 Novella "Who Goes There" by John Campbell (pseudonym Don A. Stuart).
I thought about that with songs, but you know who would monopolize that thread.100% correct. Maybe we should also do a 'which is better/original or remake' thread.
I have absolutely NO idea who you are talking about.I thought about that with songs, but you know who would monopolize that thread.

I like where your head is at but I fear that it would be short lived. The originals are almost always better with only a few exceptions in my view.
Are there even 32 remakes worth mentioning? I think the list would take some serious research to complete.
Aliens.......... really the only one I can think of.
The Lion King was a good remake. Not sure which was better though. That is a sequel, I was referring to remakes like The Jungle Book or The Thing for examples.
