Moving on from Beasley

When the Cowboys drafted Switzer as high as they did that told me the writing was on the wall for Beasley. Not yet. When it's time to re-sign Beasley....unless it's a bargain? I don't see it.

He doesn't play special teams and the little special teams he did play? Switzer took his duties there.

I have nothing bad to say about Beasley. I think he will come back this year and have a great year. He's a solid receiver but hardly irreplaceable.

The reason I put both Witt and Bease into this post together is it's the same morons who don't know anything about football who are agitating replacing both of them. The only guys who looked even remotely consistent last season with Dak, and of course during his rookie year, Bease was his best friend
Based on play last year? People have a right to want better play. You can't get mad at people because they want better players and better play.

I'd much rather see us move on from the formula that allows us to give such a contract to Tyrone Crawford. Per dollar spent Beasley pays dividends where Crawford does not.

I can get mad at people for being so droolingly stupid that they want to get rid of two of the only 3 players who have managed to make Dak look like a competent bus driver.

Beasley was awesome with Dak as a rookie and I put more of Beasley’s drop off last year on the staff because they never adjusted what we did with him
But Beasley is gone next year is my main point

My main point is he shouldn't be. If Switzer had shown enough to be able to replace and/or exceed Bease's production, he would already be on the field with the offense more than Bease. he hasn't. He isn't. He won't be. He's just not good enough.

We'll get a 4th or a 5th comp pick out of Beasley. After 2016, maybe we could have gotten a 3rd in trade, but I doubt it now.
I don’t think Beasley by himself would get you a premium pick. But Beasley and a lower pick or two might

I've seen this idea pop up in quite a few threads lately. I'm not sure what spawned this. Admittedly with being in vacation last week and some other personal business, I haven't been as plugged in as usual, but where did this come from?

Did a coach or FO person allude to something I missed? Is it people just wanting change for the sake of change? Do you believe the difference in play between Switzer and Beasley is negligible and therefore are ready to pass the torch?

Can someone shed a lite light and share their opinions on this? I sincerely don't get it. I like Beas. I like his attitude, his work ethic and his skill set. He's one of the few real "gamers" we have on offense.

So, clue me in, please.
Nothing happen.

Fans hate players that get paid more than the minimum and are not super stars.

I think many have figured out that if they obsess about TWill that we'll point out that his 2018 salary is guaranteed.

They tried focusing on the OG Cooper but free agency ruined that for them.

A couple of years ago DLaw was in their crosshairs.

Dez likely to be here, dump Williams, the Beas , sign burns, draft two, Switz and brown fill out our 6

It’s not unusual for this team to stay with what they are comfortable with
That doesn’t mean Switzer can’t play, just they were more comfy with Beasley
Not saying Switzer is better though he does offer more on ST, but he showed in his limited playing time he can do the same things Beasley does
And for once we have a guy in place and a guy with some trade value, and it also saves some miney

Giving us at least as much for Beasley in the eventual comp pick as in trade value this year. Just keep him.
Comp picks are a year away
You think a 4th next year is as valuable as Beasley and say a 4th to get a second this year, even a 4th and 5th
The second rnd in this draft can get you a starting quality player

yeah. yes. See, I can post something with no info to back it up, too. Except I can PROVE what I say.

Your theory on why people have suggested cutting Beasley was idiotic. No one wants him out because they are offended he’s a hard worker.

He would save over 3MM in cap space, they have a replacement on the roster and as noted his production has been random.

"If you're not first, you're last."

Give Switzer some of Beasley's snaps this year and if he matches the production or better... "see ya' later you little curly, blonde-headed rapper, you."

If they felt comfortable with Switzer, what is the issue?

Teams adjusted to him last year and basically made Beasley an afterthought.

What is going to change this year?

Hopefully someone in the middle of the field that can make them pay for bracketing him since Witten is no longer that guy.
