Anyone know if that would impact the west coast?

Read somewhere earlier that the ash cloud essisentially block out the sun for that side of the world.

That's what I was thinking. Seems like there would be some serious ramifications from something like this happening.

This where humans and our need to control things will eventually come in and scientists will figure out a way to prevent volcanoes from erupting. Sounds liek a good thing, could possibly be a bad thing. Who knows.

All I know is I don't want to be anywhere near the Pacific ring of fire when it goes off, there's a great chance of Fuji going off & shifting the entire pacific plate. Not trying to sound like a nut but if you live on the West Coast be prepared, Cali had over 500 quakes in a week a couple of weeks ago.

blocking out the sun for a large part of the planet would cause tremendous cooling

Maybe mother nature as usual is just balancing things out

The eruption would have to be powerful enough to eject particle matter into the stratosphere in order to have any significant cooling effect. Even when that happens, the effects are short lived.
