Muhammad Ali’s ‘greatest’ gift to Dirk Nowitzki

See video above that Dan posted. Foreman hit hard, but you can see the differences in the body's reaction after Tyson clubbed them.

Holyfield should be thanking god he didn't face Tyson in 1988.

This isn't even debatable in my book. /debateover

Maybe, but if you ask Holyfield, he disagrees. I don't think Tyson hit with less power when he faced Holyfield twice, than he did in 88. I think it's clear that he was knocking the same average joe heavyweights out in just as viscious a fashion around those Holyfield fights as he did in 88. Now you may argue that Holyfield doesn't like Tyson and that may be so, but he was hit by both guys, unlike Ali.

Well that is your opinion clearly entited to it but I watched enough of both fighters to say there is no way to know which hit harder. As i said there is only 1 man I know of you has been in the ring with both. Yes Tyson was not at the top of his game but the same can be said for George

I got an ******* too! ;) We've all got them and I'm good with that. It would be great to see them fight though and I'm not even a big time boxing fan.

I agree. :D

I'm not much of one these days either. The straw that broke the camel’s back was the Tyson/Douglas fight. When I saw that they had Tyson ahead on the score card before he got knocked out I swore off boxing. There should have been no way not even close that Tyson would be winning on the score cards. That told me had Douglas not knocked Tyson out the judges would have given it to him. Boxing in my view is just too corrupt

Yes he fought butter bean. Holmes was not a better fighter as he got old. Boxing is not an old man sport but my god there was no one in the heavy weight division worth a damn. For Million sure why not. Even today the Heavy Weight division is a complete joke and not worth watching.

I agree, and for an old time like me that's a shame because the heavyweight division used to be the heart and soul of boxing.

Lower divisiions were great too though - Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Leonard, Aguello, Pryor ......

The sad thing is that boxing probably still has some great fighters and matchups, but the publicity and therefore the interest and information that gets heaped on wrestling, UFC, MMA etc has overshadowed it.

At one time it was the gold standard. When you talked about the Champ people knew you were talking the Heavy Weight Camp of the world. Now you could be talking about anyone.
