We dug a hole for ourselves with that game last Sunday. That trick is now in the rearview mirror. Let's buck up and see what we can do to vindicate ourselves for whatever remains to be proven this year. Many things are possible. Some of them might actually be positive. Win against Chicago and our world is sunny once again.

A hole or a rut?
Other than that, agree.

There's been a consistent trend in our losses. People will say "Oh its because we faced a good team....". But Deadskins suck. One consistent trait of these losses is that they all got a consistent pass rush on us and we couldn't handle it. That was the story of the Deadskins, 9ers, Eagirls and Cardinals game. This team has no idea what to do when a team is blitzing them. And it makes sense because our receivers get no separation to cause any damage except Beasley and that's where his quickness comes into play.

I'm ready to see some other receivers like Harris and Street get shots. I see Street seems to be getting more playing time but his chemistry with Romo is just terrible at this point.

I think they are all 3-4 teams.

Beat Chicago first and we'll focus on Philly.

Seattle will beat them with their defense. They may even provide a blue print on what we need to do.

That's kind of ironic. If Dallas had done to the eagles what they did to the seahags.........well, it goes without saying.

Draft defense better?

The defense isn't as bad as you think. They took it on the chin and now they get the chance to respond. They've kept us in most of our games. We can address pass rushers via FA so it doesn't make what we do on draft day predictable in the first round.

In comparison with Seattle the defense is worse than I think it is.

Excellent observation bro.............the book is out on our offense, you blitz Romo and jam that outside receivers so they cannot get a free release.

Our receivers suck at getting off a jam, even Dez. Michael Irvin said he was going to talk with Dez because he has to start winning the battle at the line of scrimmage. Beasley is the only receiver that is quick enough to beat the blitz but he fumbles if you chop his arms.

That is why the New York media has been going after Coughlin and the Giants this past week for just rushing 4 and letting Romo have all the time in the world in the pocket. Trust me when I say the Bears will be bringing the heat early and often, they are not going to sit back and let Romo pick them apart.

The whole team looked like crap. Definite hangover from the NY game. Romo was due for a bad game. Defense is a lot more of a concern. Brady had a mulligan against the Chiefs. Peyton had one or two already.

Team needs to bounce back against Chicago then go to Philly with a better effort.

Hopefully, Seattle takes the Eagles out and then the Eagles take Dallas for granted in a couple weeks.

I don't believe in hangover.
I don't believe in he had a bad game. You can head off a so called bad game by being smarter and calling less predictable plays.

We don't play out of our mind like we really want it.

You're right man. I'm more worried about what we do when we are being blitzed than I am this defense to be honest. Its becoming predictable and for the life of me I don't know what the Giants were thinking. From my understanding Fewell believes in having everyone in coverage and try to get pressure with 4 guys. Cowboys will murder that. Every day of the week.

And you're right about our receivers not getting off the jam. The book is out on our offense. All you can do is hope they continue to try and find things to make teams pay for it but I don't think its possible.

Terrence Williams is really going to get lost in all of this with his chest catching ways. Which is why i'm not opposed to seeing more of Street and Harris. See if someone is hungry and wants to play over their heads.

I cannot believe Williams just stood there watching the CB dive on the ground for the INT........................Williams never even attempted to try and break the pass up and dive on the ground to keep it from being a pick, he just stood there.

I think he was scared of Philly, at least that is how he played.

Agree 100%

We need to counter the approach teams will have on us on defense when they stack on us. WR screens, quick slants and RB screens need to create a new fold to counter.

At this point I'd run those slants with Escobar. Williams has the broken tip on his index finger and is body catcher anyway. Let's see what Escobar can do. IMO its the best way to create a new wrinkle on offense that can force some attention his way.

He really looked like someone that wasn't there mentally. I was happy when the Philly player pushed him on his arse. I was hoping it would wake him up.

I'd go straight youth out there. I'd give Escobar more snaps, more snaps to Streets and Harris.......something. Guys are becoming content with their spots it feels like.

Really? I didn't even think of that. I wasn't for sure what the Eagirls ran or the 9ers.....I know they have some 3-4 formations and things like that....Interesting.....

Yes, all 4 are base 3-4 defenses. It might just be coincidence. I think a heavy blitzing 4-3 defense would cause the same problems. The Cowboys have to have better routes for beating the blitz, IMO.

But the thing about 4-3 defenses is that they usually believe they can get pressure with those 4 guys. I think there's really something to it with 3-4 defenses. I never made that connection. There were times when the Giants blitzed us and it just fell flat which is why I think they just only kept pressuring 4.
