The Dallas Cowboys made a roster several moves on Thursday, August 20.

Wide receivers Phil Bates, Edmond Gates, and linebacker Dakorey Johnson signed with the Cowboys. CornerbackRoder Sweeting was claimed by the team, according to the NFL transaction wire. The first three players mentioned had early morning workouts with the club.

To make room, wide receivers Reggie Dunn, Deontay Greenberry, running back Lache Seastrunk, and cornerbackBrandon Smith were all waived.

I haven't seen this kind of churning at the bottom of the roster since Jimmy took his Heineken's to Miami. Love seeing it.

I hate it for these guys that were cut, but they more than had their chance to grab the coach's attention and they didn't.

Maybe one of these new guys will.

Shouldn't surprise anyone... its been talked about that these guy just weren't impressing

That makes two WRs that should have stayed in school.

Them front office folks are working overtime this off season. They have to be praying the season starts soon.

So much for Reggie Dunn. Well at least he has all his college kickoff return TDs.

Probably a favor for Dunn
Now he has a chance to catch on with a team where he actually has a shot
Green berry sealed his fate when he dropped everything thrown his way

Gates is insanely fast but doesn't have a great feel as a return man.. Hands also very shakey.

Another UDFA legend bites the dust.

Greenberry was definitely disappointing.

For that matter, I wouldn't have been surprised to see Antwan Goodley go out the door with him.

His time is coming too
I actually thought we had some wr's who could push for a spot but really none of the new guys have taken advantage of the opportunities they've had
Lucky has a good shot as a return guy but better hang on to the ball or he could see someone pushing him off the roster
Really thought wr would be a spot that was hard to cut down, but sure hasn't worked out that way

There was a place set in Dallas for a kickoff returner/ST role player. Good luck

Abilene Christian WR - drafted by the Dolphins, spent some time with the Jets. Very very fast - ran in the high 4.2s coming out of college. Small framed guy, somewhat suspect hands, but could be a real factor on returns if used there.

Competition is great! Great in sports, business, and in life. The more the better. I love the philosophical approach of the powers that be in Big D.

I think Porter's play made Greenberry expendable and could put Goodley in trouble. The guy hit the ground running...scouts may have hit gold w/ that pickup.
