I know it's only been 4 games, however, Demarco Murray is on pace for:

1424 yards rushing @ 4.9 ypc
84 receptions for 544 yards receiving
1968 All purpose yards.

I find it hard to complain about the running game. I also find it hard to complain about the offensive line -- they are playing pretty well.

Without the old standby's of "no running game" and "one of the worst OLs in the NFL", it definitely forces a bit of soul searching as to the identity and production of the offense.

Dallas running game did alright, OL did have some problems vs SD front and while they are not the reason for the loss they did make some critical mistakes in the game.

I blame it on not having an answer for these teams playing soft defenses.

We don't have a lot of player issues. We just can't scheme our way past these soft defensive schemes.

Chargers had the worst pass D in the league and they ran the same scheme everyone else does against us and we struggled just like we have every week.

We also seem to have particular problems with the 3-4.

Considering we had ample opportunity to practice against it which we ran it ourselves it’s a bit of a head scratcher (amongst several others) why it gives us so much trouble.

It is our commitment to the run that is the major problem and has been for a while. One run for loss and we are immediately going to dink/dunk pass mode. Even worse, 1 successful run and we are back to 3 passes and then punt. Murray averaged 5 ypc yesterday and only go 14 carries. What the?

A commitment to the run does at least three things:

1) It keeps the defense more honest with their LBs and safeties.
2) It burns more clock and keeps the opposing Offense on the bench a bit longer.
3) It wears down the defensive line.

It also has the potential to demoralize a defense mentally physically if done right.

Why professional coaches cannot see this is beyond me.

77 yards on 15 carries, not counting Romo 15 yard run Cowboys had 5 yards a carry so was the running game bad? No
I felt 2nd half SD did a great job of holding on to the ball putting some big drives together with a 10 play and 13 play drive that kept the offense on the bench, once they got the lead Dallas did get away from the run. I think OL pass protection was a bit up and down.

No one on this team can get open.

It's been a common problem with this team for years. We have great WRs but for whatever reason, they rarely are open. Other teams seem to have routes that consistently get a guy WIDE open. That hasn't been the case here.

This loss goes on the Defense mostly. That 3rd quarter play was just atrocious.

Running game seemed alright. Coaches just once again, got away from it.

We have the secret sauce of running our WRs directly into the coverage... You know, players have to make plays on the regular against double and triple teams, otherwise they wouldn't be great. Coach Garrett and Callahan can't do everything.

Cowboys also run too many shallow routes this season, there is just not a lot of room for Witten, Dez and Austin/fill in the blank. Without stretching the field, defenders can just sit back and attack. Opposing Ds are loving the new Romo "friendly" offense.

Sunday Murray had 70 yards in 14 carries for 5.0 ypc. We have to be the only team in the league that would go away from the run at 5 ypc. Disgusting.

Agreed, this is not the problem. Especially not yesterday; when the offense essentially lost the entire third quarter. And down 30-21 with six minutes to play is not the time to establish a running game; though I would have liked a draw play or two in there that might've caught the Chargers off guard.

Speed! That's what's missing only Dez has the burners not Miles Witten or Murray and that's why I think we need Dunbar on the field. I was waiting all season for the package they rolled out yesterday and they used it 1 time! Dez Harris and Williams and Witten and Dunbar personally I feel this is our most dangerous set out there and we need more of it

Well every game is different, but in this one you just can't fault the offense. The D couldn't get off the field cause they couldn't stop Rivers from going nuts on them.

Anyone who wants to bring up issues with the offense is just trying to push some agenda they have had for forever......the problem with this team yesterday was the D, Carter and Mo don't get a pass anymore, they sucked yesterday along with the rest of the D.
