With Murray being just short of the record would you let him play vs the skins to achieve this record or would you sit him given the broken finger he is dealing with?

So that is one reason why Emmitt was here yesterday.

I'd say its his call. He has earned the right to either play for the record or rest if he chooses to.....

Murray does not need to sit this week. His hand is fine...it's just the pain that was the issue. Emmitt and TO played the following week, so there's really no reason to sit now. A playoff experienced team gains more from sitting down than a team like ours. Unless a player is nursing a leg or joint injury, he can play. I might sit Romo just because there's no reason to take another pain injection just for a first half appearance.

What would it serve by playing him? Could you imagine if he suffered a season ending injury? They do happen you know.

And for what?? In a game that is totally meaningless. Just to get a .....record?

He wouldn't play a down. And that goes for romo, dez and the rest of the starters. as many as possible. They wouldn't play a down.

Use this time to prepare, physically, mentally, spiritually...................... for the "Real" game. not a record.

I get it. momentum, continuity....but....no. they wouldnt play. not a down.

he will need to practice for the game, get ready for it, play at least 10-15 plays and risk aggravating the injury
our run game has also been less productive recently likely due to other teams stacking the box and the workload murray has been getting that he is not used to.
he needs to be fresh going into the playoffs
he needs to be looking at Detroit and GB defenses this week

just my .02

He's been practicing and it may only take 5 or 6 plays for him to gain 30 yards to break Emmitt's record. The Cowboys aren't going to risk Romo so they'll be running the ball most of the day with Weeden at QB. A franchise rushing record is a big record to have on your resume when the back who holds it is the NFL's all-time leading rusher. The Cowboys have had 2 HOF running backs in their history and for Murray to exceed what they were able to accomplish in one season would be a big feather in his cap plus it would add to his negotiating power for a new contract. I can understand where some are coming from he does need the rest but I would give him the opportunity to get the record. A hole may open up and he could get it in one play. We'll see what the Cowboys decide.

Playoff games count towards the record, right? Sit his butt and let him get the record in the first round.

His regular season rushing total is over once the playoffs start there's no carry over into the playoffs.

if he were 29 yards fron Erick Dickerson's mark or even 2000 yards, I play him. but 29 yards short of a franchise mark, rest him.

I'd keep him out to get him healthy. I don't care about records. They did that stupid crap against the Skins in 2007, got embarrassed, and they didn't even reach the individual goals for each of the guys they stuck out there. It was stupid, and it put individuals ahead of the larger team goal. That's garbage.

Rest him, because if they go anywhere in the post season, he's going to be a big part of it.

He was very compromised yesterday. Not sure why they played him after it was obvious that he was hurting and that Dunbar and Randle could handle his duties. Don't believe the BS that he can't hurt himself any further, he was certainly worse off for playing yesterday. Let him heal and be 100% against Detroit / Seattle. Next week doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.
