Well, then, let's put it this way: Murray's in the MVP conversation only insofar as he's putting up numbers. If a factor other than numbers is going to be involved, that'll work against him rather than for him.
If the Cowboys were 4-4 right now I doubt Murray would be in many if any MVP conversations. A player has to be carrying their team to WINS to be considered an MVP candidate. If Murray remains healthy and the Cowboys continue having a great season there's no doubt he will be named the league MVP. He's carried the Cowboys this season and that's a big part of what the NFL looks at when awarding the league MVP. As I mentioned Brees out produced Rodgers in every statistical category in 2011 but Rodgers carried the Packers to a 15-1 record despite having an historically bad defense that ranked almost as bad as the Cowboys defense last season. Peterson carried the Vikings to the playoffs in 2012 despite the Vikings having a terrible QB situation. Murray is the number one reason the Cowboys have been such a surprise this season.
His play has taken a lot of the burden off Romo's shoulders. Limiting his carries would hurt the team and put the burden back on Romo because neither Randle or Dunbar provides what Murray provides. Garrett was asked a few weeks ago if sitting Murray would get the message across to him to hang onto the football. Garrett said Murray has been a big part of their success and although the fumbles have been a problem they need him on the field. He basically said what I've been saying. The Cowboys have to continue riding Murray and hope the fumbles stop. The problem can be corrected by him giving himself up when he has defenders all over him trying to strip him.
