He did score 2 TDs. They used Sproles and Matthews more than him. He cannot be happy. It looks to me like they just decided to take him from the division champs and then figure out how to use him. He doesn't fit what Kelly wants to do so they just stick him in there from time to time. I doubt his time in Philly is long.

I'll go back to my initial reaction to when they signed him: Why? They used him primarily on sweeps to the right, and then DIDN'T have him in there on the game's most critical short-yardage run situation of the night.

It's almost as stupid as the Giants' late-game gaffes last night.

I have to admit, somewhat in his defense, the Eagles are not going to let him see anything close to 400 carries this year. I'm not sure if he will get 300. Why did they pay him all that money to split that almost proportionally with two other guys?

I think they were afraid to let him stay in Dallas.

i think they did it to make sure we dont have him, thats the only explanation.

8 rushes for 9 yards.

Where's the Murray crowd?

Disclaimer: I've always said we shouldn't re-sign Murray for what the Eagles paid him.

Now, that I've made clear my position, as part of the "Murray crowd," I would first say the 3.5 YPC we averaged against New York is not what we need from our backs.

Would Murray have done any better for Dallas last night than he did for the Eagles tonight? Who knows. He might have done no better than what we've got, and the backs we've got at least did shine in the passing game.

So, we'll see how it goes. Since Murray is now an Eagle, I'll cheer for his numbers being like this in every game. But I'm also still left wanting by our rushing attack at the moment.

Now, are we going to do this every week or we going to concentrate on what we need from our backs to succeed? Murray's not going to help them look any better no matter how good or how poorly he plays. We need to figure out how to make our running game be more effective to complement our passing attack.

I can totally understand the 3.5 yards per rush not being good enough, but we DID get over 200 yards from scrimmage from our backs.

I'd take that every single game for 19 games this season.

Yeah but were we going to give him that type of money? If the Eagles were competing with anyone, it was with the Jags or Raiders or someone that had disposable cash.

I think if they didn't make the offer he would have taken the 6 or whatever it was that we were offering. He just made a desperation call to the Eagles to see if they'd pay him more - and they did.

And for the record, all joking aside, I loved what Murray brought to our team. The guy was a professional and a terrific RB for us.

I think the Eagles will probably release him right after they fire Chip at the end of the year and maybe he can come back with all of his guaranteed Philly money and play for us again.

I think it's more important that we establish we can effectively run the ball. I'll take the 200 yards obviously, but I believe we have to absolutely be able to consistently make 3 to 4 yards on first down to make defenses respect the run.
