Must Win Game

Must win is a term fans and media enjoy. The 2nd game of the season has never been a must win.

when you look like crap and confidence is at an all time low I'd say it's a must win. Then what .. the 3rd game isn't a must win either? The O was a train wreck. There's no sugar coating that.

The only answer is YES. it is a must win game.

sure people will come in and say, it is only game 2, the season is a marathon not a sprint at this point.
And in a way they are right.

But it is still a must win game. As in December, we may be looking back at it, and say..dang only if we would have won that game, or some other game.

there are no must wins in game 2 because what do you do if you lose. I agree though that a loss will basically mean we have to go 11-3 the rest of the way to make the post season, highly unlikely

I really hope this is a sarcastic comment. Alabama would lose by 40 minimum to the Buffalo Bills. This discussion comes up seemingly every year. Could this high powered college team beat an NFL team? I wish they would play it once to show the difference in the NFL and college.

yeah it is a silly comment,

But cern, we know if they win this game, it will be red sky at night and that's OK, fans want a winner and sure as hell don't want to get down on the team to start the season. For us, this isn't something new but the continuation of something we've been force fed for a while.
I'm beginning to see our qb situation as similar to 2015 when we lost Romo for the year. Dak, rush and white are looking a lot like weeden, cassel and Moore. And we saw how our coaches handled that situation.

Sunday night, we all shall know just exactly how stable the offensive line is right now...

Against Jacksonville, New York's defense couldn't stop the run, allowing almost five yards a carry. It also couldn't pressure Blake Bortles, managing just a single sack on the afternoon.

If this current group can't sustain against the Giants, then the season could well be over before any dominant players even return to play...but we'll know how severe the whole package is, then.

I place it on whoever thought this recieving Corp would work . And not negotiating with Dez and trying to convince Witten to stay another year.

And ultimately on who thought Dak would be able to elevate lesser talent.

If that’s Garrett. I’d burn him at the stake.

As usual I think Garrett is left with trying to make the best out of a bad situation.

And our OL woes aren’t helping. If we can run the ball this offense is dead in the water regardless who our OC or HC is.

It would have been worse Sunday if not for a defense which is obviously better with added talent. Unfortunately our offensive talent level is less than last year.
Let’s face it Greggo. You and I know that every problem this team has starts at the very top. The guy with the “lifetime contract”.

I don't see a big problem with the receivers. 65% completion percentage with multiple misses.

Biggest problem with WRs so far is with Hurns, who hasn't shown anything yet. I wonder if that's why Gallup is behind him on the depth chart. They're planning on rotating Hurns out of the starting line up.

I was watching some clips of the game a member posted today, and I just can't imagine what the players are thinking when they watch the tape.

I mean, look at this.

-2nd and 17.
-Linehan calls a freaking draw play.
-Dallas comes out with 2 TEs, and this ain't Gronk/Hernandez, these are garbage TEs and the players know it. You don't bring in Swaim and Jarwin to chuck it downfield.
-Carolina sees the TEs and immediately reads the telegraphed run play.
-The Panthers pack eight in the box likes it's freaking 3rd and 2. Seriously - look at that. 2nd and 17 and they're playing with a loaded box, CBs in single coverage with 10 yard cushions, and a FS so deep he's not even on the screen. Complete disrespect for our passing game.
-This should be the most obvious audible in the world for Dak to check into a pass, but he plays it straight.

This play was a 5 yard gain for Rod Smith, but it was basically dead in the water from the second they broke the huddle. As a player, you've just got to be pissed when you see this moronic and repetitive of coaching, and defenses just disrespecting you because they know exactly what the playcall is. It's the football equivalent of your coaches asking you to beat your head against a wall, and I can see how the players would get tired of it QUICK.

Whether it's the coaches' fault, Dak's fault for being unable to make downfield plays and forcing these kind of ultra-conservative calls, whatever, I don't know. But I could see how the players could get sick of it very fast and quit on their coaches like they did with Wade.

Coach, you hit upon a very interesting and important point. If we, the fans have question about the team, and the media (who aren't invested nearly to the point we are), have questions about the team, that's one thing. But, when you brought up the supposition that the players themselves MUST have questions about the team ... that's is a rare and potentially deadly scenario. For them to work since OTAs and supposedly buy in to the song and dance and then perform as badly as they did ...

We just might be on the verge of losing the team altogether. Maybe that brings abut needed changes ... I don't know.

They used to play the NFL Champions against college all-star teams. It was ugly. And yes, Alabama wouldn't be within 3 TDs of whomever is the worst in the League. To think otherwise is well ... silly.

0-2 begins the 0-3 talks. This board gets really interesting then. If your looking for drama this will be the place.

But I think we have a better performance this week because we’re playing a lesser team. It will still be a struggle. We are what we are.
The dramazone is the place to be right now...
