Dak Prescott's rank on NFL's worst contracts list makes no sense at all

Talking about the players side probably doesnt think it was a bad contract..lol..hell lets be honest the FO doesnt think it was either because they are not good at the job.
Oh no Dak and his agent won twice and hats off to them. They got everything they really wanted. I can't be mad at Dak or his agent for fleecing the morons.

95% of fans don’t understand the cap but it seems like 95% of the complaints are about contracts.

The team has over 30m in cap room today.

What difference would another 5 or 10 million in “home town discount” (lol) have made.

Answer? Zero. Zero difference.

Complain about talent and the play on the field. Stick to things that we, as fans, can at least legitimately claim to be slightly informed about and leave it at that.

It’s a bad contract just like his last contract was a bad one.
Both were poor contracts because the entire process was mishandled by the Cowboys. You NEVER franchise tag a QB except when you already have an imminent contract outlined and use it only for a month or two. You NEVER allow a QB or any star to play a full season on the tag unless you have his replacement ready and it will be your final year with him.

When you franchise tag a QB, you are now paying him top 5 money which means you will pay him even more than that per year when you finally sign him. No QB or star at a key position will ever sign for less than what you just paid him on the tag. On top of that, Dak was coming off his 4th round rookie contract when they tagged him in 2020. After 3 seasons of being the starter, they should have extended him a year early, a huge raise for Dak and a good deal for the team that would set them up for the third contract.

What team with a starting, so called franchise QB from the fourth round allows him to play out all 4 years of his contract, franchise tag him for the fifth season, have to give him a top contract with no tag and no trade clauses because they allowed him to stand on the precipice of free agency…..and then do the exact same thing with the final year of the second contract, allowing him to be days from free agency before giving him a third contract.

I have always been a big Dak fan, but the only reason he has had 2 veteran contracts with the numbers at or near the top of the league is because the Cowboys never signed or extended him early when they clearly never intended to let him walk away for only a 3rd round compensatory pick. Don’t blame Dak for the stupidity of the Cowboys.

What else were the Cowboys supposed to do? Come on.

It's very easy to poke fun at the Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott for having failed to progress in the postseason, but the constant hand-wringing and complaining about his contract doesn't have as much weight behind it as many believe.

The Cowboys are all-in on Prescott, as they agreed to a four-year, $240 million contract with him following his past success. That is the type of contract that is instantly going to make any Cowboys hater green with envy when Prescott doesn't end world hunger or solve one of the Millennium Prize Problems every single week.

Either don't sign him or sign him earlier than they did for less money.

The Cowboys botched his extension.
