not a bad mock....now if i may offer my two cents...

i have changed your mock slightly

1 - meacham
2 - DE Brian Robison
3 - deossie
4 - CB Tarell Brown or Courtney Brown (I like your idea of picking a CB in this spot, or even Paul Soliai)
5 - DT Paul Soliai (however, I love your TE pick...)
6 - OL
6 - rowe
7 - hall
7 - C Lyle Sendlein
7 - ilaoa

Oh boy... The only way I can see the Cowboys drafting a WR with the 22nd pick would be due to the fact both Anthony Spencer and Jarvis Moss are gone.

If we want to go after one of the W boys in the 2nd, I think I would rather have Eric Weddle than John Wendling.

Weddle played both safety positions and cornerback (so you know he can cover), and even returned kicks. Weddle has a huge motor, is a great character guy, and just makes plays. Motor, character, and productivity translate into the NFL.

Wendling is more of a workout warrior and doesn't have very good coverage ability like Weddle does.

Weddle and Wendling both ran a 4.48 at the combine. Weddle had a better 3 cone (Weddle: 6.78, Wendling: 6.96) and short shuttle (Weddle: 4.12; Wendling: 4.16 ) Wendling had the better vertical and broad jumps.

Wendling is bigger and stronger like a SS. Weddle is faster and much better in coverage like a CB. So the question is, what kind of FS do you want? Do you want a SS/FS? Or do you want a CB/FS? A centerfielder or in a boxer.

I think we want a centerfielder coverage FS, which Weddle is superior at.

couldn't go wrong w/ either, but noone has really been talking about Wendling as a candidate, and I know ABQ loves Weddle, so I waited for him to use Weddle in his mock

but if we sign Hamlin, which I think we will, I'm going to have to reconsider my 2nd round pick, at an altogether different position

what do you think of the rest of the draft?

Wendling, DeOssie, and Young are all reaches. You don't address the OL until the 7th. There will be better value at 22 than Meachem.

tell me what you guys think of this:

Trade #22 to San Diego for pick #30, gain San Diego’s 3rd round choice in return, #95, and 4th round choice, #126

Trade our 6th and 2 7ths, #s 196 and 216, for Jacksonville’s 5th round pick, #145

draft would look like this...
#30-1st(v/SD)
#54-2nd
#86-3rd
#95-3rd(v/SD)
#118-4th
#126-4th(v/SD)

I like this one better...Staley is a little light for my taste at T...would prefer one of the top tier CBs in that spot...whoever slips.

Staley is a little light, but he's 6'6", he has the frame to pack on 20 more lbs. and still be one of the most mobile tackles in the league

and if we take a CB at #30, I'd be fine w/ that too, just would switch Texas Tech OT Gabe Hall for Zabransky

FYI: Staley had a heck of a Pro Day workout, weighed in at 306, ran a 4.79 40, he was also clocked at 4.82, had a 4.4 short-shuttle, 7.09 3-cone drill, and posted a 32" vertical, his 27 reps of 225 were only 1 less than Joe Thomas put up

DeOssie won't get past the Patriots in the 2nd round. It's hardly a reach in the 3rd and I would be surprised if he is there when we pick.
